Time to make an update

So yes to answer everyones question... I'll be accepting a professorship at westwood college in midtown. They just recently opened up a new campus on spring street between 12th and 14th street. They do offer bacholor degrees so they can't be that bad of a school. =) Now while I've always wanted to teach I never really expected to persue it until I reached like 40-50. They saught me out to potentially teach an Art History class but turned out my graphic design skills blew them out of the water and immediately offered me a class teaching photoshop. To me it's just going to be awesome to be able to teach but to actually get paid to do it much less 20/hr is awesome. I will admit I'm a bit nervous, cause while I've mentored people and had taught very very informal design classes I'll probably be teaching like 10-20 people with a ciriculum and everything. Everyone I've met on the faculty seem super nice though and the head of the graphic design department is wonderfully friendly so I think that will help.

It still really hasn't sunken in that I'll be a college professor. I was totally expecting to be turned away as soon as they saw I was 26. I guess I can only try my best =)

I attempted to put as much back into the karma pool as I could this weekend. One of my friends car engine is potentially completely destroyed. He drove through water that was too deep for the car and his newly installed japanese race motor which was about 5000 dollers is more likely ruined. 4 of the 6 pistons are holding no compression hence completely useless. But I hung out with him alot this weekend and even picked up the tab on a movie and few beers. Also late late friday night like 3am I helped this lady push her car out and gave her a jump. I was on my way home from being out at the Mark for Doc Martin when she asked if I had jumper cables. It definitely makes me feel good when I can help people.

I saw two movies this weekend. Ghost in the Shell 2 which was amazingly rich in the sheer army of designers and artist it must have taken to create that entire film. I was constantly catching myself looking at all the beautiful imagery. And I also went to see Hero. Talk about a movie that makes one want to cry it's so beautiful. The sword play and martial arts were quit well done, but the color and acting.... takes ones breath away. I honestly did start to wonder why so many asian films are so rich and beautiful such as this?

That movie made me wonderfully proud to be half asian. I'll admit that I constantly am happy that my heritage is half european and half korean. It's just a perfect balance in all that I do and I couldn't have asked for a more wonderful set of principles and philosphies growing up to meld together.

I've always said my strength, determination, drive, and intellect came from my european heritage father, and my finesse, poetry, music, and art comes from my asian heriage mother.

If you haven't seen hero, please, please go see it. Even if you don't like action movies or martial art movies... this movie is beautifully written and the photography.... is heart skipping.
