I had a ton of fun writing Movieverse Pepper. She's just a blast, and I adore the inside of her head. I liked the Movie 1 interaction between her and Tony, but movie 2... Just didn't work. She spent the whole movie Being The Responsible One, and that's a death sentence for a relationship.

:D Glad to provide some diversity! For the most part, it's just easier plot-wise to make various slashable characters bisexual. Like you, I was thrilled when they didn't give Natasha a het relationship in the movie. I totally expected her to at least get a Tony-kiss. Instead, she was awesome all on her own! \o/

The surprise attack I wasn't sure about. Classically there should have been a build up. I'd decided to write this as if it were one of the Iron Man movies, but with Pepper's PoV instead of Tony's. The attack was part of Tony's story, not Pepper's, and I'd already created a running theme of Tony Not Telling Pepper This Stuff, so... There's little clues dropped (Nick's comments, the crossed line Jarvis finds, suspicious remodeling, and the ( ... )

I adore this story so much. I walked out of the theater craving Pepper/Natasha and this is the first story that satisfied that yen at all. You captured everything I loved about Pepper from the first movie and justified everything I hated from the second.

Also: UNF.

Mmmm, lovely sex scene.

:D Pepper setting out to rescue Steve! D'aww and kicking the guna and hurting her foot. And finding out he's Cap and her first reaction is to yell at Tony. OF COURSE IT'S HIS FAULT.

This was all totally adorable, but I feel it ended too soon as we do not get Fury Resolution for Natasha and Steve. :D

I had far, far too much fun with the "Tony kidnaps people" running joke.

This was all totally adorable, but I feel it ended too soon as we do not get Fury Resolution for Natasha and Steve. :D

... Oh damn, you're right. And I can't even justify it as "Pepper wouldn't be there", because she most definitely would make sure she's there, if only to give Fury a piece of her mind.

... I may need to add another scene. D:

So, the new Avengers movie kind of reminded me how awesome the Iron Man movies were (No clue about the comics, they're not really my thing ><;;) But yes, my love for the fandom was rekindled! And that basically means I go around reading fics, and I just wanted to say that I absolutely loved this one! This is possibly THE only lengthy Natasha/Pepper fanfic out there and it's of amazing quality. You have no idea how grateful i am that you wrote this! I realize that I'm quite late on the commenting bandwagon considering this is years old, but it can't hurt to let you know that even years later people are still enjoying your work :D

I know this is sort of a late comment (really late), but I loved this. I loved how, even though Pepper and Natasha are paired together, Pepper's complicated relationship with Tony, and to an extent, Steve is explored. It's not just a case of "Pair them off so that it's convenient!" Which is always nice.
