Because I was reading something, and I remembered that Justin's father (in fandom at least; not sure about cannon) is named Dean. And that his father disappeared after his mother died to go touring the country. My mind wandered. Which, considering that Dean Winchester is only like, two-three years older than Justin, and I can't imagine him willingly leaving his own kid in an orphanage, is a bad bunny.
If you AU it so that their timelines don't match, make Dean old enough...but not know he's Justin's father, then have the dad that did leave go find Dean to say 'my wife died, this is your kid, I can't take care of him...'
Of course by the time Dean shows up Justin is all fighting evil himself...but it's an interesting plot bunny and I'm going to stop there...
