Make-up is evil and I don't like it.
I don't have raccoon eyes as far as I can tell, but I still feel like I did it wrong because it doesn't look exactly like the picture. And there's no one around for me to ask. Also, my eyes keep wanting to water, which is both annoying and worrying.

Eyes wanting to water usually means that you put something in them that you shouldn't have. This could be either some ingredient in whatever you used, or a coarse applicator/brush, or maybe your eyes are sensitive and you need better products.
And makeup will usually not look as it did in the picture, unless the model's facial structure and coloration are strikingly similar to yours. Oh, and also it'll usually look gentler in the photo than it does when you look in the mirror - just like movie and more than that, stage, makeup need to be loads more dramatic than real-life setups.
