took like a week to get into the olympics but i did it

i swear something happened today that was worth sharing but i have no idea what it was. i'm watching the olympics right now - men's halfpipe - and shaun white just fell on his last run. :( he's thirty-five and it's his fifth olympics and one of his competitors was ten months old for the first. that's amazing. i really wanted him to get a medal

Virtually all I've seen of the Olympics so far is curling - because we've won the odd medal in the past our TV companies get very excited about our teams even though we've not done especially well so far. LOL I really like ice hockey but there's been a dearth of coverage to date, though they are showing some highlights right now, actually. The Finns are currently wrestling with the Japanese (literally).

and as i reply to your comment i find men's curling on tv! norway-sweden. the norwegian men are not wearing exciting pants! *gasp* i am disappoint. altho it might be a qualifying round and maybe they save the funkypants for medal games. i think your women beat our women, altho to be fair i don't know where the american ladies rank compared to other olympic curlers.

I loved that story about Dillon. He is awesome. I hope he keeps his fire going!!!
When my kid was 8, he wrote a Supernatural fanfiction. We actually mailed it to them, because I thought it was cute and the SPN production crew would get a kick out of it. But the lawyers sent it back. Which was kudos in itself. They're like "You never know, Sam and Dean might go up against a haunted disco ball on the Show and then where would we be legally!!!"
As for my children's book, I've never gotten any of my talented family members to illustrate it and it just languishes on the shelf. Sigh. I have only myself and my procrastinating ways to blame! I have more pages than Dilllon. :P

that kid is going places, seriously. he has a plan. and i love that your kid wrote about a haunted disco ball! how weird and fun. nice of the lawyers to write back in a kid-appropriate way, and with a sense of humor, too.
