wtf, 2020

Nov 08, 2020 23:53

yesterday was a day, wasn't it. i mean, biden! harris! i found out during zoom brunch and we all had a collective moment of yay. and also one of the girls asked if it was too early to have a drink. no, it was not. :D

and if you're not a drinker, there's always election cake.

and then it went downhill. )

confabcon, star wars, good news, baked goods, cool shit, spain, well that was annoying, voting, well that was unexpected

Glad you're alright!!!

And hey, I once sprained my ankle jumping up and down after Nadal won Wimbledon in 2008, so you're not the only person to have a Stupid Injury on their record :D

I am so sorry about your fainting and foot/ankle issues. I have never heard of this before. Wow! Hope you heal fast and without too much pain.

Trying to think of something funny, cute, or encouraging to write but all I can come up with is what an exciting day you had...not even close, right?

Feel better soon!

thank you! i'll have to have surgery after all, which is not a ball of fun, but i trust the surgeon to know what he's doing.

What a weird and wild day! Get well soon.

Thanks for posting that election day cake, it was really interesting to learn that Christmas and Easter used to be banned in some Christian sects.

What a bizarre accident!

I've never heard of that vagus nerve thing, it's just as well I'm not due a mammogram for a couple of years or i'd be nervous about it happening to me too! Luckily by the time my next one happens I'm sure I'll have forgotten about the connection LOL. I'm glad you were ok in all the ways that matter, though the whole ankle thing is s frustrating for you. I've done the public transport with crutches - I had to commute to a new job in London shortly after badly spraining my ankle, and I can confirm it was not much fun getting the tube or the ordinary train encumbered with a crutch. So the virus is good for something after all.

I hope it heals fast!

ugh, it's so frustrating. i mean, my foot keeps itching, and i can't scratch it. >.<

oh man, navigating the tube with crutches and a sprained ankle sounds awful. at least now so many people are still working from home, it's easy to just... not go in.

I'm glad I read this. I'm going to have my first mammogram in 2021, and I AM A FAINTER. It's just a thing that happens and I'd prefer it if people didn't call 911 unless I'm badly injured. It never would have occurred to me that a mammogram might induce a faint. Now I know to pre-emptively tell them not to call 911 if it happens... I don't want to pay for all the action that ensues after a 911 response. Just give me some apple juice, I'll be fine.

definitely tell them! i never would've thought mammograms were faint-inducing either, but surprise! i think the clinic called 911 partly because they thought i hit my head and partly because i did something to my ankle. hopefully neither of those things will happen to you.
