Oh, my anti-Adam Sandler leanings are legion. I just cannot stand him. So, at least you've taken one for the team, and we now know that despite all of the reviews, this is not a movie worth breaking through any anti-Adam bias we might have. :O
Dark has been recommended to me, so I'll try to remember to get the original audio. We usually get subtitles on non-English things automatically, though I found myself wishing Netflix had chosen to stream the Welsh language version of Hinterland with English subtitles so I could hear the original. But for that show, they film two entirely different versions, and Netflix is only airing the English-language one. :(
if you didn't like him before, uncut gems will not change your mind. i was happy to take one for the team. :D i mean, i have netflix, i may as well use it.
for whatever reason, netflix had the english dub as the default, so it took some fiddling to get the original german audio and english subtitles. much better, tho. so wait, hinterland films each episode twice? once in welsh and again in english? that seems like a lot of extra work.
