Ooh that wetlands thing is really interesting, and hopefully will be helpful (although, honestly, New Orleans is basically just screwed long term, but for the short term it could help?)

i got the impression they were almost doing it as a proof of concept, as an example of the kinds of large-scale flood-mitigation projects other cities could implement. because yeah, new orleans is just going to sink one of these days.
