I like this. Not just the characterization of these pioneer women in this era, but even the concept of writing a kind letter of goodbye to a place you leave behind, if that place nourished and strengthened you. And the letter is well thought out, poetic and graceful... a loving tribute to a former good home.

they couldn't tell everyone goodbye to their faces, so... letter. :D even if the one girl didn't actually write it. also if you want to say goodbye and thank people in a language you don't know well, you can take more time if you write it out. i'm glad you liked it - thank you!

This was really well written. The "letter" was written in a voice one would expect from these girls. It painted such a nice picture of acceptance and tolerance that is so often missing these days.

thank you. ^_^ adaville was founded as a refuge for women who have no other place to go, so tolerance and acceptance are kind of baked in.

What more can any of us hope for? I really liked the measured pacing of this and the deliberate words, and would go visit the place they described.

I liked the tone in this, as well as the squabbling sisters soldiering on together despite their own differences. And the idea of writing a goodbye letter to a town of people who deserve gratitutde is really nice!

they argue because they love. :D they do actually agree on a lot of things (like, they both want to go to the wyoming territory), but every so often they have to argue. and they've been learning english and they can't say goodbye to everyone in person, so... letter. :D i'm glad you liked it!
