What I just finished reading:
good omens which was close enough to the tv series (rather, the tv series was close enough to it) that i could visualize most of it, and not quite close enough that i went "wait, they didn't do this bit" a few times and "there was a scene in the show that's not in the book..." a few times. and then "was all of 1x03

I randomly say "I'm sodding not, I'm people covered in fish!" All I ever get are weird looks but that book is funny. Its one of my re-read books, I go back about once a year.

the bikers cracked me right up and i was sorry they didn't make it into the show. most of the stuff from the book that they cut for the show i was totally fine with, but the bikers and their new names (things not working properly even after you've given them a good thumping! all foreigners especially the french! and people covered in fish :D ) were just so funny.

Once I knew they were making the TV show I purposely didn't re-read the book so I wouldn't be too annoying about the necessary changes that transitioning to a new medium always requires. I get why they cut the bikers, but I missed them, they're a lovely piece of random silliness. I also wanted to see Atlantis but I'm sure that was a budget choice.

i actually didn't mind missing atlantis, altho i would've liked to have seen the high priest playing quoits, because i don't know what quoits are. but when the show came out i figured i'd read the book so long ago i wouldn't remember what they'd cut and what they'd added, and i was kind of right. and some of the stuff i did remember was, like, pepper was white in the book, but that was one of the changes i really liked.
