Welcome back! I'm intrigued by--but not at all surprised by--Hawaii hair. I am curious what you *do* to your curls, since I'm just starting to lean how to deal with mine, which are probably nothing at all like yours.

Sometimes I forget that my people don't live near me, and that you in particular live on the other side of the country, until you say things like Pacific Fish Instead of Grouper, because I'm in California. Had a moment of "Buh? GROUPER?! Of course it's Pacific fish!" I don't know that it's necessarily opah, but I think we do a lot of tilapia here.

hawaii hair is just hair with a little humidity. :D i just put mousse in it while it's still wet, scrunch it around in a towel a little bit, and let it air dry. in the winter when the air is dry my hair is flat, and if i get drizzled on (or misted) i frizz, but slightly damp air is apparently good for it. try mousse (or whatever your favorite styling product is) and air-drying!

i didn't know you could get grouper in california! i always think of that and tilapia as atlantic fish, because i eat them when i go to florida. cod of course is a new england fish. >((("> in hawaii i had opah and kanpachi and monchong, which were all pacific fish. and, uh, salmon and tuna, which weren't, altho the salmon probably came from the pnw. i mean, i doubt it was atlantic salmon.

Your trip sounds wonderful! I'm glad you had such a great time and how did you fit all that in? I'm exhausted just reading about it.

Oh, it sounds as if you had a wonderful time in Hawaii. I love Hawaii! Was that your first time there?

Congratulations on getting your artist assignment. A spacebang! What fun. :D

it was wonderful! and yes, my first time. my sister went a bunch of years ago with some of her friends after they graduated from business school, but they spent more time on oahu and less time on maui, and i think they spent more time lying around on the beach. and they did a booze cruise, which, well, we're too old for that shit now.

j2! in! spaaaaace! :D
