SPIDERVERSE!!!! I was actually totally blown away with how good it was. I actually think it's my film of the year (taking a non calendar approach to time :D) - the story was engaging, the characters were all believable, there was humour and drama and excitement AND the graphics were AWESOME. I kept internally squeeing while I was watching at all the little touches you mention above - the dots, the lines the fabulous colours. It was so CLEVER! And visually stunning.

So yep. I fecking LOVED it. Can't wait for the DVD to buy and cuddle it forever. Sadly my movie buddy wasn't impressed, she couldn't get past the fact it wasn't live action Marvel *sigh*. Philistine.

PS we just started watching The Good Place after hearing so many people praising it up - I'm now enjoying it a lot. We're only on season 1 though.

it had pretty much everything - humor, drama, thrills, chills, a girl who did not end up the love interest, weirdness, excellent voice acting, and some fucking fabulous graphics. i don't want to judge your movie buddy, but if she was going to get hung up on the fact that it was animated and not live action, maybe she shouldn't have gone.

i say nothing about the good place! *zips lip* well, other than what i've already said. >.< i say nothing about s1. :D isn't it a good show?

every so often the heels make so little sense they kick me out of the story.
Ooh, I've been there!

Fiona's platform sandals in Burn Notice make me cringe, because half the time she's wearing them on a job where she's climbing fences and potentially running and all the rest. Get real!

Also, having just seen Red 2... the dominatrix heels Mary Louise Parker is wearing to, apparently, walk all over Moscow in are ridiculous. WUT.

i totally forgot fiona's shoes! they were always high, too. i'm more forgiving of wandering-around shoes or white collar professional shoes - pepper's ankle-breaker heels in the first iron man make me cringe but they sort of make sense for her - but if you're going to be running and climbing, maybe rethink the platforms.

yus! spiderman!

I had to look up the christmas songs after I got home from the theater because I had a hard time hearing the lyrics with a few people laughing really loudly. And I think most people knew Aaron was going to end up being Prowler but it was easy to get caught up in Miles' emotions.

it was such a good movie! i heard the christmas song somewhere online last month, so i'd already heard it, but it was still great to hear it in context.
