i baked a quiche last night and my kitchen still smells like fried onions

since we last, er, spoke, i have been to a birthday party (where i ate a lot of cheese and watched some nutbar videos), curled (and tied), gone to work, done a dumb thing at work, met my mom and sister for dinner (twice), been to a funeral, and mightily resisted telling the new tax partner that if she wanted her new office professionally cleaned

Also, if you were meh on the movie, you might consider checking out the book. My mom's a big fan. Just calls it Guernsey when she rereads. And by "big fan" I mean last year she actually convinced a few of the ladies in her sewing circle to do a cosplay with her.

i read the book! that's one of the reasons we watched the movie, because i could say "oh, i read the book this is based on, it's really sweet, you'll like it". i love that your mom and her sewing circle cosplayed. that's really cute. i liked the movie - and wherever they filmed it was gorgeous - i just thought it was kind of predictable, altho that's possibly because i read the book and knew how it ended.
