I definitely second the recommendation to try Montreal-style bagels and eat poutine while you are there. I think La Banquise is the most famous poutine joint, though everything I ate in Montreal was pretty delicious ( ... )

i can't got to canada and not eat poutine! and montreal is supposed to have the best bagels ever, so as a lover of the bagel, i have to try them. mmm, bagels. i'm also a lover of public transportation, and the image of the subway cars with these little squeaky wheels cracks me up. and i've heard of the pedway, which sounds fun. (i went to chicago last year but i don't remember reading about one there.)

these are good suggestions! i'm not really into electronic music, but if i was, that club sounds like a cool place.

Speaking as an ex archaeologist, how could you NOT open that sarcophagus? After doing all the non destructive investigations one could, of course. (And speaking as an SPN fan, hire Sam and Dean to keep an eye on things, just in case... LOL)

but we don't know what's in there! it could be a pissed-off elder god! or a pissed-off mummy! or something else totally awful! it could be a lot of really angry ancient egyptian bees! who knows!

altho to be honest my curiosity would get the better of me and i'd have to open it. and then everyone would die.

See, my reaction to the "Should we open the mysterious nine-foot black sarcophagus" question was like, fuck, why not, I mean at this point we might as well, right?

i guess the world is enough of a trash fire that one more potential being of pure evil can't make things a lot worse....

I pretty much had the same food thoughts as you with Montreal (plus some beer). I really enjoyed the botanical garden when I was there.

i'm pretty sure we can find some decent (ie, not molson) canadian beer too. :D mostly i just want to stuff my face with poutine, maybe with some extra curds. i'm totally down for botanical gardens, too!

I have been to Montreal but it was 12 years ago, and I was only there for a couple of nights. The Notre-Dame Basilica is gorgeous. Old Town was pretty to walk around. I walked up Mount Royal. That's about all I can remember. I definitely don't remember where I ate.

i need recs for places to see, too. :D i'm a big fan of big churches, so the basilica sounds like it's right up my alley.

The basilica is stunning. I only had one full day in Montreal, and would definitely like to go back.
