How well into the role does Cumberbatch fade? I'm not sure that question makes sense, but what I mean is there are some actors that its hard to separate the character from the actor and Cumberbatch (like Johnny Depp and a few others) is one of those actors whom I tend to see as the actor giving the lines, not as the character. Did you buy his Stephen Strange?

i don't think i've seen him in enough things to make a judgement. i saw the pilot of sherlock a bunch of years ago but don't remember it well enough, and he sounded entirely different as doctor strange than he did as smaug. i guess he was believable as not-cumberbatch. in infinity war he seemed more like a second rdj.
