Ethiopian Christianity is so old, it's really cool. Have you seen their underground churches? Amazing.

Thanks for the crochet links, I've ended up buying my SiL a crochet book of literary characters. i think it might tickle her to crochet some of her fave Jane Austen characters! LOL

the only thing i know about ethiopian christians is that i thought they were coptic christians, and that's not even accurate. i mean, they're more like eastern orthodox. i'm curious about the churches now, tho.

crochet austen! that's really cool.

I love Sandra Oh, I'll give that a try!

Christian Bale will always be Batman. I watched the movie, it was okay, but I kept hearing "I'm Batman." so, you know.

I love the knitting, I might try the porg!

should i warn for serial killing? there are a couple of deaths in the pilot. it could be good, it could be kind of meandering and pointless, we'll see.

my work here is done. :D it's so cute!

Aww man, I remember that X-Files episode (I am old, I saw it when it aired. Poor doggie)

Timeless... oh Timeless. I actually started a long rant on my LJ about before deciding it would be epicly long and just wasn't worth it. Honestly, if you think about it, why hasn't Rittenhouse gotten rid of Rufus and Wyatt yet? They have no qualms about killing, it shouldn't be too hard to make it so one or both didn't grow to become the adult they are now and especially if it was Rufus the time team would be screwed, they've said many many times it was really hard to find someone capable of piloting. (Also, I *love* how they're like.. oh we can just get clothes where ever we go. Umm.. Hollywood sure. 1600s? NO. wtf. Clothes just weren't hanging around then, they were handmade for the person wearing them and most people only had a few outfits. HOW THE HECK did they find clothes, especially before being seen? And what did they do with their old stuff?)

Ooh, that article about the footprints is neat.

i didn't remember the episode but i remembered that the dog got eaten. poor fluffball.

>>why hasn't Rittenhouse gotten rid of Rufus and Wyatt yet? <<

that's a good question! i guess they're more concerned with shaping the perfect present. altho it looks like they messed with 1980 to make sure jessica lives, so they're clearly not above fucking with wyatt. and the availability of period-appropriate clothes is starting to bother me, especially now that they're hiding in a bunker and don't have the giant warehouse of every costume ever at their disposal. because yeah, where are they suddenly getting clothes from? are they stealing stuff from people's clotheslines? they can probably hide their contemporary clothes in the pod, at least.

i love when we learn something new about early man. it's always something really cool.

I don't really know what's happened with Timeless either. That last episode seemed to have forgotten every timeline disruption rule ever laid down. Not to mention making the 'true' timeline worse by becoming part of the history. Argh.

I also want to kill Emma more than a little bit. Whose hair color changed dramatically in this last episode, to more of an outright orange than a red. But the evil remained the same...

team time travel isn't even following their own rules any more. i don't think they're following anyone's rules, other than "go to the past, try not to get killed". everything else is up for grabs. and that's... kinda lazy. i mean, it's really easy to write about time travel if you don't care about the consequences of, say, letting eight women live instead of being hanged as witches, or letting a teenage jfk wander around the bay area in 2018 and learn about his own assassination.

emma is a cardboard villain. there isn't a single redeeming feature about her. lucy's mom is at least trying to care about her daughter, but emma is just... evil. period.
