Ooh chinese food. I should look and see if the places here are open for Christmas.

If you scroll down the twitter feed for the sheep map they show a snippet of a Tasmania vegetation one with some (now) unfortunate abbreviations. It's hilarious

if anywhere around you is open for dinner on christmas, it will probably be a chinese restaurant. :D altho the place my sister and i went last year, they closed the kitchen at 9 AND DIDN'T TELL US UNTIL WE WERE SEATED. and considering they seated us half an hour after our reservation? and didn't even let us look at a menu beforehand? we were rushed and HIGHLY unimpressed with the service. so if you do find a place, ask how long they're open.

that tasmania map cracks me up. makes you wonder what they found that inspired the wtf tho.... did you see the habitability of australia map? "useless", heh.

Oh, ugh, how annoying. It looks like the Chinese food places are all full up for the 24th and 25th but we decided to bring in some tonight and just have our planned tonight's din tomorrow and then leftover Chinese on the 25th, Leftover Chinese = delicious.:)

My faves are Sheffield, Lincoln and St Albans, with the one using the guy in the high viz safety jacket coming a close runner up.
Chinese food on Christmas day sounds an admirable idea - except no roast potatoes. I'd miss those.

lincoln's is kind of disturbing. i mean, it really does look pompeii-ish, like they were fossilized by lava. but st albans is so cute! the one with the guy in the high-viz vest is a weird one, but you have to give them points for their attempt at modernity.

you can always roast some potatoes to go with your takeout. :D

I loved the chubby, knitted nativity scene, and the comment about the coke-can Jesus was funny.

For some of the others... nativity at a church is not really the place for humor, so if your setup looks like a claymation rendering of a cartoon, or something recast by the Village People, a church is not really the place to display it.

Says the agnostic, but still.

knitted knativities nativities are so cute and cuddly. but i agree with you about the solemnity of having them inside the church. if you want a goofy church nativity, put it outside.
