Your posts and links are always so fascinating. As for the English school boys, they must realize the Scots have known the benefits of the kilt for centuries. :-)

isn't it? i love that they used little tokens to count stuff - little clay sheep to count sheep, little clay loaves of bread to count sacks of grain, little clay jars to count jars.

That thing about the boys wearing skirts seems to happen a lot - I'm sure it was news last year too when we had our brief heat wave.

I have seen that X Men film but can't remember the ending. Huh. What a Swiss cheese my brain is. I do however remember doing all about those Uruk tablets back at Uni when I was doing the Prehistory of Western Asia...

clearly more british schools need to add shorts and/or kilts to the boys' uniforms.

the only reason i asked that question was because days of future past was on tv so i saw the ending. i've never seen the whole movie all the way through, so i was naturally confused as hell, but the way the ending was done, i figured we (or at least x-fen) were supposed to know who the guy was.

prehistory of western asia sounds really interesting!

Heh - it was interesting once we got to the birth of towns and cities - I'm not really that into flint tools and the depths of prehistory. I liked my archaeology to come with a touch of history. :D
