those of you who imported your lj's into dw, how long did it take? because i started importing my nano lj last night and it's still going. i know dw says it could take up to a day to import, but this is ridiculous.

As for DW, it took me a couple weeks to get everything ported over.

Some of it imported fast but my journal took a few days. I think with the larger volume right now it is slower.

that's what i figured, that a lot of people were trying to import at the same time. it's done now but i think i'm going to wait before importing this lj. i don't have the patience to wait for days.

It took a day to import all my stuff and when I looked at it, if it was a link to serial stories it was the lj links that were reproduced.
My icons didn't, those I had to do manually. Don't know if my comments finished because I accidently closed the link. Ah, got a post in the inbox that my comments are done.

Think once it starts the download continues on their end so it doesn't make any difference if your computer is on. duh me.
I did post on dw during all of that. Didn't seem to affect it. I did upgrade my dw from free to paid status. Figure if I'm going to depend on it, and use it more regularly, I should help support them.
Brush up or remember the coding that we had to use for various features like italics, big, broad and cuts (not sure about that lj-cut or dw-cut?); all those things you have to do manually over there. Then again I might not have that right and I haven't found the tools yet.

i'm not looking forward to fixing a bunch of internal links. >.< altho if all i'm going to use dw for is backup, i don't know how much it matters.... ditto for lj-cuts. imagine all the long fics that people put behind cut-tags. O.O
