I always think Olympic Games are totally boring, until I dip the toe in, and then I just fall down the rabbit hole. ;) But it's just impossible to keep up with all the events, and recaps are just not the same as live. It's like Chinese water torture.

that's totally me! i don't care until i start watching, and then i'm all over it. at least that's how i feel about the summer olympics - the winter games are a whole other thing, because there's a bunch of events i know i want to see. one day they'll broadcast the curling when i can actually watch it!

Agreed, I'm generally more interested in winter sports and therefore plan to watch some of the Winter Games. But I don't generally watch athletics or other typical summer sports, so it always comes a bit out of left field.

i love the accidental pornification of the male divers. diving might be the only event where the men wear way less than the women. i'm ok with that.

i'm still bummed about the mail room guy! partly because i don't know who to pester when the tax printers start running low on paper, and i don't know where the boxes are to mail stuff. but i liked him. he was fun to talk to.

all i've seen is swimming and women's gymnastics, but that's all they've been showing at night so far. and not only did the uzbek gymnast qualify for the games in the first place, she qualified for the individual vault, against gymnasts half her age. homg.

I am oddly saddened by the Williams' sisters results this Olympics, and I'm not even a huge tennis fan. But they've been so amazing for so long that I hate to see the tide turning for them as it inevitably (with age) will. :(

Those divers' have sextastic bodies. I had not computed the alternate interpretation of Steele Johnson's name, maybe because "Johnson" isn't a euphemism I pay a lot of attention to. But now that I'm aware of it... oh, such an unfortunate choice on the part of hte parents! It's like a porn-star name as a given name. o_O
