London Spy - spoiler for ep1, emotional spoilers ep2&3 amnisias February 12 2016, 08:38:07 UTC
Watching London Spy, too, and whilest I think it's good TV it's actually quite heartbreaking. Ep 1 was tough enough, with the whole falling in love just to have it all ripped away again by the end. Ep 2 was totally creepy. And Ep 3 had just the most horrifying 'the goverment got you' plot ever. I'm planning to watch 4&5 tonight, and utterly expect to have my heart ripped out, diced up and served as Last Supper. *wibble*

oh yeah, it's completely heartbreaking. we're only up to 1x04 here - bbc america probably shows the episodes late - so don't tell me what happens in 1x05. you may or may not need a little restorative heart surgery after 1x04, tho. 1x03 was when danny thought he was hiv+, wasn't it? and when he found out his intimate conversations with alex had been recorded. it really sucks to be him. i have an overwhelming urge to reach through the screen and hug him every episode.

So many cool links in this post! Gonna read them in the clinic if I can get the Internet to work there. I do know about Josephine Baker (banana skirt!) and yes, lady spies are cool to read about. My favorite WWII spy is still Garbo, who self-appointed himself a spy for the Allies before they even recruited him and operated a network of 20+ fictional German spies.

Your poor knee, though! I hope it's only a one-day thing.

my knee seemed to be a one-day thing. thankfully! but man, i am not old enough and i don't play enough sports to have a knee problem.

My husband is "in hate" with Ichabod's shorter hair, and I think the longer hair is definitely more flattering for him.

I don't really like the shoehorning in of new characters this season. The whole Betsy Ross thing is a giant WTF, and the Sheriff's son (why) and now the FBI woman. It seems like it's all window dressing to keep Ichabond and Abbie from starting a romance, and to add to the "random white guy" cast on a show that is really very nicely rounded. Though I still miss John Cho. A lot. :(

Secret rooms! I am all about secret rooms. :D

we're going to have to agree to disagree about ichabod's hair. i loved the long hair! but the shorter cut looks really good too.

i kinda like foster but i agree that the ptb are trying too hard to introduce too many new people. i think betsy ross was originally intended to be a past love interest for ichabod, which is interesting considering they would've been a thing when he was still 110% committed to katrina. but her presence means a lot more flashbacks, which means less abbie, which is annoying as hell. my best guess about corbin junior is that the ptb think jenny needs a boyfriend, and since no one liked hawley, they figured they'd try again. which, why? why is it so necessary to push through a love interest?

secret rooms are the best.
