the x-files tonight was grade-a ridiculous and absurd and really fun, with a bonus memorial to kim manners. i actually mostly liked last week's episode, but once tonight's got going, it was better ( Read more... )

I thought Quentin and Julia's argument was more she knew about his crush and used it to her advantage and as a stroke to her ego? I also got the sense he didn't tell anyone at Brakebills about her because he both knew it would do no good and that it was dangerous and deadly there and he was kind of trying to keep her safe? (There's also the fact he's very timid a type and not one that would bring attention to himself by striding into the Dean's office or anything) I dunno... I think I want to like the Magicians more than I do

i figured he hadn't said anything to anyone because he's the new kid, he knows he isn't necessarily anything special or anyone worth listening to, it wouldn't make a difference if he did say something, and he's too passive and too timid to do so anyway. so i was actually kind of surprised when he came out with "you knew how i felt about you!" as if it was relevant.

i want to like it too! i might be getting there, tho. i keep watching for julia, and i liked the pair of flying (and fucking!) books.

they really are! who would've thought of upholstering the entire interior of a cab to entice passengers? plus, it gives indian designers a new forum for their work.
