jola turned me onto SPN back in S2 and I credit it with turning my writing around a corner. That show!!! And yes, I found the scarecrow episode one of the scariest things ever, too!!!
see, you blame me, i blame tsuki_no_bara and she blames wrenlet! now you just need to somehow get Wrenlet into something and we'll have come full circle ;)
i have a low creepy/scary tolerance anyway, and a lot of s1 and s2 wigged me out. playthings was especially freaky because it seemed to reference the shining so much, and that is hands down the scariest movie i will never watch again. in retrospect it was a thing i really liked about the early seasons, tho, that they scared me. later seasons just didn't make me cover my eyes the same way.
i probably did! i distinctly remember making disks for a bunch of people in an attempt to drag everyone kicking and screaming into the show's orbit convince other people to watch it. i'm so happy it worked on you. :D
:D Me too got into it with Asylum! I've heard so many people say that. Which is odd, because it was a good episode but not the most original one in terms of plot. It was cheesy but it owned the cheesiness, and also Sam actually pulled the trigger :D Aw ♥ SPN at its best.
it was a weird one for me too, because a. i don't like haunted house stories (they really freak me out), and b. i'd missed almost half the season and had only a vague idea what was going on. but it totally grabbed me anyway. maybe my brain was just particularly receptive that night, i don't know.
i couldn't stick it out that long. too many angels and demons for me, and i was tired of castiel and crowley. (altho to be fair i haven't liked the mytharc since probably s3, definitely s4.) good to know it got better, tho.
