so for a couple months we've been (theoretically) looking for an admin for the tax department at work, and yesterday i talked to a couple people from tax about that admin being me. the job sounds like half general admin and half tax-specific admin - like processing tax returns - and for about four months out of the year they're hysterically busy,

Good luck with transferring! I hope they do the smart thing and hire you. Out of curiosity, do you work for an accounting firm? Because I do too now (admin in the audit dept) and would be interested to compare notes sometime. :D
