i think i have an idea for nanowrimo already, and i'm going to blame bleodswean because it involves a tattoo artist and i want it to be kind of urban fantasy-ish, but less with the creatures of fairy tale and folklore who happen to work at your favorite coffeeshop and more with the magic existing alongside technology. sort of. i think. if that's what i go ( Read more... )

either i start thinking about it months in advance or i come up with an idea the last week of october. but considering everything i know about working in a tattoo parlor i learned from tv - which makes it kind of suspect - this will give me some time to look stuff up. and figure out if i want it to be urban fantasy(ish) or not.

Yeah, that's a good lead time. Urban fantasy is such a wide-open playing field. I wrote an urban fantasy with a female tattooist. ;P And some Norse gods. It was great fun. That was a bazillion NaNos ago.... (We seem to have simpatico story arcs....)

I didn't do NaNo last year because of Idol. Looks like, so far, this year I can NaNo!

last year i managed lj idol and bigbang and nano. (i didn't get voted off the island until december.) i'm still not sure how i did that. (i'm not sure how i hung on until december, either.)

you should totally do nano! now that you have the writing time.

we kind of do! altho this particular plot bunny was pushed into existence because of the maiden and death, so it's less "sympatico" and more "this is your fault", as i am always willing to lay blame on someone else for my story ideas. :D i don't plan to have any actual norse gods, tho....
