is that "someone who likes the walking dead isn't necessarily going to like the newsflesh books"?

For one thing, "Newsflesh" series are less of a horror genre and more of a political/conspiracy thriller with zombies as a major plot point. Also, the society it portrays has zombies as a major safety hazard, but it is not a fallen apart apocalyptic dystopia. They are excellent books, IMHO, but of a slightly different flavor.

i've read neither (altho i watched some of s1 of the walking dead the series), but from what i've read about feed - which is apparently not much >.< - it sounded like something i might like, even tho i'm not a zombie-story fan. altho i do like a good post-apocalypse, altho possibly more on tv/in the movies than in print. this is all good to know!

Mmmmm....

You could write me the fic I always meant to write.

Supernatural in a Brokeback Mountain crossover. Sam/Dean. Cowboys. Bobby is there, too. And outdoor showers. Add supernatural elements if you feel it keeps the boys in-chara. Haunted sheep?

i don't actually write wincest, but i can totally see them as brokeback type cowboys, with the jumping in the river naked and the outdoor showers and the sharing a tent and everything. (but hopefully a happier ending, because my god was that movie bleak.) and haunted sheep, why not. there are some definite paranormal possibilities in buttfuck nowhere, wyoming.

Ah, well. I get it. During my wild and crazed Wincest-writing days....I was respectful of those who don't jive. I did write Dean/Jo. So...yeah.

Are you really writing fic? Cuz I will so prompt you!

wincest is one of those things where i can totally see why people write it - i mean, the boys really do have some powerful chemistry - but it's not my conception of the characters. so it's not my thing, but i'm totally cool with people who read/write it, because i get why they do.

oh man, poor jo. she got such a raw deal. a great death, but i wish the ptb had figured out what to do with her before that.

I hope you're not coming down with something = ugh. FEEL BETTER.

I've not read any Walking Dead and only seen an episode of two of the show, but I read Feed which is the first in the Newsflesh series and really liked it. I haven't gotten around to reading the second yet, but intend to. Eventually. My mountain of TBR is high.

IDK - a crossover of something weird but plausible. Like Sam & Steve meet Sam & Dean and there's talk of classic cars.

i get a cold about this time every year. i feel like shit for a couple days, take a lot of sudafed, cough for about a week, eat a lot of cough drops, and get over it. still, bleh.

i'm not into zombie stories but the stuff i've read about the newsflesh books makes me think i might like them enough to read the first one. but i couldn't watch past s1 of the walking dead (i never read the comics).

CAP AND FALCON MEET THE WINCHESTERS, OH MY GOD. steve gets to be snarky, winchester sam gets to be taller than captain america. dean compares them both to a dorito. falcon sam can talk about music with someone who knows what he's talking about.

"If you could have me write a fic specifically for you, what would it be like? Fandom, characters/pairing, genre, plot elements, kinks (if applicable)... what's your ideal fic from me?"

not a fandom or anything, more like a prompt. Witch. I'd like a story about a witch (not fairytale or kids-stuff) in your real-world style of writing. I'd like a character that is totally recognisable as a witch but also very normal and real and beleivable as a person. I think you have a gift for nailing really HUMAN characters and i like seeing that from you.
