did i mention that we kind of got a new temporary receptionist at work? she can only work tues-thurs and she can't come in until 9:30, which means i still have to sit at the front desk for an hour every morning and all day monday and friday, at least until someone gets off their ass and we get a full-time-all-week-every-week receptionist that isn' ( Read more... )

I am truly kerfuddled by your "bosses" or whomever is in charge there! Are they simply oblivious to this or they don't care or wth???? I'm sorry to hear you've been wrestling with this for so long. It's unacceptable and you sound really gracious about it. Kick some ass, girl.

i think part of the problem is we have to go through the home office which is in chicago, and they have no idea what we're doing or what we need. for all i know, someone in chicago thinks the current arrangement is just fine. i mean, they're getting one person to do two people's jobs. and i don't think they care. it's corporate bureaucracy in all its absurd back-assward glory.

i'm gracious, if you want to call it that, because i don't have a choice. i can either suck it up or quit, and i can't quit because i can't afford to be unemployed. but i can afford to look for another job on the side.

i wonder if i can figure out how to make healthy vegetarian jambalaya without using gross okra ... TO THE INTERNET!!!

i bet you can! i don't think the curling club jambalaya had okra in it, to be honest. i don't remember eating any. lots of green peppers, tho. (and chicken and SAUSAGE. which obviously is not vegetarian-friendly.)

vegan sausage is easy to get though, the taste of sausage is mostly spices anyway. but someone from the south needs to show me how to make oka that isn't crap disgusting because the texture is slimy to me.

fry it? altho it's probably still slimy on the inside.... maybe it you stew it with enough other stuff it loses its slime.
