I'm glad you had such a good time in Florida and got to escape the cold for a while.

I love the mittens. I've never done mittens, but those are tempting, colorwork can be tedious though, but the results are interesting.

it was soooooo nice. i was very relaxed.

i don't even know how to knit. but if i did, i'd be trying those, just because they look so freakin' cool. i'd probably spend most of my time bitching and complaining and pulling out the stitches and starting over.

I went to the beach at Fort Lauderdale :D It was touristy, but the color of water was astonishing.

You gotta explain suicide doors! What are those?

the water was so blue! and the sky was so blue! i took a bunch of pictures that are basically "i wanted the sky and this building was in the way" and "here's some sun on the water at the beach".

you know how car doors all open the same way, with the hinge by where your feet are? suicide doors open with the hinge by the back of the seat, like this. (i've only ever seen them in four-doors like that one, but evidently you can get them as front doors too.) and i think they're called that because if the door is open while the car is moving, the pressure of the air is going to keep it open and you're going to fall or be pushed out. i always think of them in connection with mobsters from the 30s, but they were made through the 60s, at least in the us.

Those mittens are amazing! My backlog of knitting projects I want to create is huge, but I may have to find space for those.
