\o/ RECEPTIONIST! Actual person to do this actual job that, amazingly, needs to be done! Oh yay, keeping fingers crossed here.

The breadth of your curiosity about history still amazes me. I don't know how you manage to read about so many different eras. Although, do you read mostly historical for fun? I think those books you mention sometimes tend to be historical. Which would make sense. That's all super cool :D And I didn't know that about WPA! And then vikings. And Persian Empire. You really do go broad.

i read history for fun! like, the book about the first millennium is called the last apocalypse: europe at the year 1000 ad, and last month i was reading about new york in 1914 - anarchists! rockefellers! progressive politics! - and seriously, the persian empire! that's gotta be next. i want to know more about stuff i don't know anything about, y'know? which is a lot. >.< probably lots of americans don't know much about the wpa either, and admittedly i only know about the rural electrification administration - which planted all those miles of utility poles across not only the southwest but the south too - from looking stuff up for gangster story timestamp fics ( ... )

They probably went to a library. Which I shudder to imagine. Look at all the neat stuff just floating out there that we never would've known if Wiki didn't redirect us :D

It's really cool how much you know about history and how you're interested in such diverse periods and countries. And look at all the historical fic that comes out of it, for our benefit!
