I heard that Sebastian had refused to do the ice bucket challenge, and I was prepared to lose all respect for him (tho I was very sad about it) so you have made me THE HAPPIEST. This is awesome. I've been googling like every three hours to see if Stan and Mackie had done it yet, and it is the best that they did it together, and were super cool and imaginative about it. :D

I live in a NASA town and it is true that NASA folks are awesome. :D There are not as many bumper stickers as you might imagine that say "Actually I AM a rocket scientist".... my BFF grew up in Huntsville where they literally were all rocket scientists. Here they are more astronomers in general, but my son still has a complex about his ability to do math when compared to all his friends (NASA offspring!)

why would sebstan not do it? i mean, i can kind of understand why someone wouldn't want to dump cold water on their head, especially with the drought in california, but there are ways around that. stan lee did it but they poured water on a bobblehead!stan instead of actually soaking him. (which, considering the man is old as dirt, was not a bad idea.) and admittedly they were at a con and might not have had time. so their solution was really cute and fun and kind of silly. i mean, felt falcon flying away, heee. and sebstan trying to be a hardass about one-upping chris evans.

your poor kid. :( feeling mathily inferior on account of living among nasa offspring. and hey, astronomers are still really fucking cool. i love that they're publicly pop culturally nerdy.

my best NASA nerd thing is my t shirt that has a NASA logo, but it says TARDIS instead of NASA. Whenever I wear it around town, people flip and want one. :)

Sebastian was reported as saying that the ice bucket challenge was like an internet wet t shirt contest. Tho, you know how these things are often spurious, Idk where he would have said that.... but at any rate i'm really glad he changed his mind. It would have been very sad if he'd been the only Avenger not to do it! He and Mackie did a great job with it. :D I think it's so funny how they have to "tour" together to all these cons, and they never had a scene together when filming. :P Kind of like how Supernatural guest stars are thrown together at their cons. :)

that's a fabulous t-shirt.

i find it kind of hard to believe that sebstan would say something derogatory about the ice bucket challenge in public. i did hear that anthony mackie took issue with the water wastage, but i buy that just because i know other people have brought it up. also? they totally need their own show, because they are ADORABLE. it's hard to believe they never even did a scene together.

I felt the same around dinner time, I ended up having graham crackers and a glass of milk because apparently I am in kindergarten.

Both those links were highly distracting. Thank you. I needed something to help me procrastinate editing my fic for crossovering - haha!!!

The picture about the nurses landing at Normandy reminded me of my Aunt Melissa who was a flight nurse in WWII. She was awesome and died way too soon. :( Most women on that side of the family live to at least their 90s and we've had quite a few centenarians. (both her sisters, for example, are still alive)
/random.

i vaguely considered having cereal, but figured i should eat real food and so made some egg salad. one of the nice things about being an adult is that you can have graham crackers and milk for dinner if you want. :D

i myself am highly distractable, so i don't mind at all that i helped you procrastinate. and also, cute boys and cool shit, always worth sharing.

that's so cool about your aunt! i bet she had some fascinating (and scary!) stories.
