so i posted my bigbang today, yay! i unlocked everything, made sure it looked good and all the links worked, added the link to the art master post, petite-madame added a link to my fic master post, i posted to spn-j2-bigbang and... discovered my html was borked. and for whatever reason, i can get on lj just fine from work, but the office internet blocks the bigbang comm,

Don't get a complex! I noticed that this BB season is incredibly, incredibly slow. I did also think it was just me for a bit, but no. Take a look at people's comment page for those who normally get lots of readership. Crickets. My AO3 number of people even opening the page is about a third of what it would be normally at this point in BB season. And we're not even that far into the season. It's really slow and it's not you.

In fact, the aliens must be at fault. A friend recently posted a random short porn - who doesn't like random short porn? Her comments are also way, way down, even though she'd normally get a lot more than that. Aliens, I'm telling you.

Meanwhile, I'm waiting for some free time between traumatic brain injury and coma to read your fic.

has fandom completely moved to tumblr or something? where are all the readers? (even allowing for ao3 readers and people who prefer to read fic on their phones/kindles/tablets/whathaveyou, i haven't even gotten any "thanks for the pdf"! because my fic's not on ao3 yet.) (and i like my pdfs! i put handwriting fonts in one of them!) my original fic gets a better response than this, and considering that only three people ever read it? that's saying something.

it's nice to know that it's not just me, but it sucks for everyone. and it's demoralizing! but you'd think aliens would be interested in the porn, at least. i mean, you know, what with their love of probing and disco balls.

Beats me. I saw this trend before my fic went up, but mostly I was looking at badfic, so it wasn't a surprise. But now I look around, and where is everybody? Because even my AO3 is half-dead for a BB fic. And porn! Who doesn't like random 2K of porn on their f-list? Even aliens would like that! I'm very puzzled by this development. It's definitely not just you.

Nope, not me! (Unless the aliens are controlling my body, which you never know.)

full disclosure: i stole the line from the losers, from the scene where his character is changing clothes in an elevator and it stops at a floor and the doors open so four women in business clothes can admire him standing there in his boxers and undershirt. and he says "so, uh, you ladies liking the angle of the dangle?" and it cracks me up every time. it's a very cute scene.

and yes, "direction of the erection" is a COMPLETELY different picture.
