so yesterday it snowed. it started some time in the afternoon and went on all day and what felt like all night and yet when i went outside today to shovel out my car, it wasn't that bad. also, the sun was out and it wasn't too cold. and if you have to shovel, the least mother nature can do is give you some sun in which to do it ( Read more... )

A lot of people are pretty pissed off at that reporter for being so tacky. I mean, seriously, show some fucking respect. :(((

i even saw some comments about it on twitter, and i don't generally see tweets from other people that have anything to do with whichever event i happen to be watching. it was just so tasteless and invasive - it was like all the really obnoxious things about reporters packed into one tacky package.

Man, those commercial breaks are a nuicance, mostly for the athletes who have to hang around and wait. They even implement them in hockey games. It took me a while to figure out why the game would suddenly stop ,all the players were standing around bored, and a small cleaning army with buckets and mops came onto the ice pretending they were doing something useful.

they show hockey breaking for a commercial? weird! i bet that's really frustrating for the players.

Well, I'm guessing that's what it is? They don't break up the game specifically for the purpose of a commercial break, but when the wisthle goes anywhere around the 10min mark they have a break much longer than usual and all just hang aroun waiting and watching the ice being cleaned - which isn't anything I've ever seen done before in a hockey game, either.

when i was in college, the televised football games (american football :D ) were always much longer than the games that weren't on tv, because at the end of almost every play they'd pause for an extended period of time to allow for a commercial. so i wouldn't be surprised if that's what they're doing in hockey too.

i also hate that the reporter, after he started crying, patted his arm awkwardly ... like thanks he really needs to be "comforted" by this reporter he doesn't know. that was gross.

i missed that! probably a good thing, otherwise i would've been yelling "that doesn't make up for your horrible invasive question!" at the tv. ugh. just bad behavior all around.
