MIT, huh? My kid who's a senior this year is in the process of applying there. (Wants to major in aeronautical engineering, so yeah.) He was kind of "meh" about it until he bettered his ACT score so much, but then he decided to go for it. I know it's iffy, and he;'ll have to get funding for it, but it's a thing that's possible.

Congratulations on the position! I know that's been up in the air for a while, so I'm glad they at least made an offer regardless of what you decide to do with it. Not that I'm surprised; it was only a matter of time before they recognized your awesome. :)

thank you! and they totally recognized my awesome. it just took them a long time to get their shit together enough to do it officially. i kinda wish they'd pay me more for it, but their final offer wasn't nearly as insulting as their first one.
