Who on earth is still 'disowning' their kids? Unless you're seriously wealthy that doesn't really mean much. Also, I don't think it's actually legal.....In my circles people just bang doors or put down the reciever if they are seriously pissed off - till the next time....;)

i'm pretty sure it's a symbolic word for grandpa to use on his daughter, unless he writes her out of his will so she doesn't get his house when he dies or something. he just means he's done with her - won't call, won't write, won't invite her over for holidays, probably won't go to her house, etc.

I'll bet she became a born-again or something, and joined a hater church. People drift into fundamentalism for all kinds of reasons, and the issue of hating gays is something most fundamentalist religions have in common. :(

Desperately trying to make a story happen, while perpetually online with the office rewriting and retesting code. I fear the story will not happen!
