sleepy hollow is still batshit and still, uh, let us say "historically idiocyncratic". i'm totally in it for abbie and ichabod and captain irving. and jenny.
hang on, who is this guesting on the blacklist? ( casting spoiler? )
Yes, which just makes me like Sleepy Hollow MORE. They're not afraid to get after it & they're not stringing things out unnecessarily. It's hard to get frustrated when things are moving so fast. :D

so true! and they're not all keeping secrets from each other to artificially ramp up the tension! they've got creepy faceless and headless dudes for that. :D i gotta say, as crazy as the show is, and as ridiculous as the crap is that the ptb just keep throwing at the audience, i like that it keeps moving forward. stuff keeps happening! which is really nice.
Sleepy Hollow is making me sort of stupidly happy. I mean, yes, it doesn't make a lot of sense. But it has emotions! And prettiness! And fish out of water humor! It pleases me.
plotwise it is so ridiculous, and historywise it is so absurd, and the ptb just keep throwing stuff at us, but it DOES have pretty and humor (ichabod and the energy drink!) and not-ott emotions and it's kind of an enjoyable hour. altho i do have to yell "that is wrong!" at the tv at least once....
I think that a lot of history wrongness can be smoothed over with, "Well, that's what Icabod thought was true," or "Well, history is wrong!" LOL
Somehow it doesn't bother me to watch shows that don't entirely make sense, as long as there's enough fun stuff like good character interaction, fun script moments and prettiness to distract me. I mean, I'm a White Collar fan. ;)
well, ichabod wouldn't have referred to the mohawk as native americans. he'd probably have called them indians if he wasn't referring to them by tribe. and i totally get why the writers don't want to have him use indian as a term, but they can get around that without making him sound like a modern american. (like in the pilot he mentioned going to triage after being wounded, and... no. just no.) it's the language that trips me up more than the historical retellings, mostly because my knowledge of colonial america is kinda sketchy but his occasionally modern vocabulary really jumps out at me.
but man, the character interactions are FAB. and it's fun! and ichabod adapting to 2013 is so, so cute. (and white collar icon just for you, because your point is a good one.)
but he showers! and washes his clothes! and hot!deadtimetravelguy is such a good look for him!
...i might be really shallow and willing to ignore this particular reality in favor of a hot guy in a colonial coat. and boots. and the shirt. i would not however want to get within smelling distance of his boots.
orlando jones apparently ships ichabod/irving. and i may or may not have checked out his tumblr today at work. ahem. i'm not sure he fully understands what he's in for, but he seems totally game to figure it out.

And Captain Irving! You know Orlando Jones has been asking for links to fanart and fic on twitter? Apparently he's started a tumblr account, too.
