a couple weekends ago, when i was in salem, i discovered that a battery had leaked inside my camera. >.< so i replaced the batteries and went on my merry way, by which i mean i took some pictures. but the battery acid had corroded a couple of the contacts in the battery compartment, so today i took the camera to a camera store ( Read more... )

I've heard that before about technology, it's less expensive to buy a new one than to fix the old one. *SIGHS*
Thank you for the reminder. I went to check my camera and I had taken the batteries out. *sigh of relief* I thought I hadn't.

I am evil. So want to post that picture to one of the teachers at my school. She would freak which would be amusing and then I realise that that could be construed as bullying behavior. *hangs head in shame* So I won't.
Why do I see the Wonder Baby (no affiliation with the bread) as a small boy child with mean parents?

it's so frustrating! i can't afford (and don't want!) to replace all my tech every couple of years.

if parents want to buy the wonder onesie for their boychild, more power to them. :D altho maybe they should take the little tutu off. he could be, uh, wonder william! or something else that starts with w. wonder bread baby, hee.

and hey, sending the mask pic to someone isn't as bad as showing up wearing it. >:D

Wearing it WOULD be cruel. She watched Blink while alone in a dark apartment.

At least one of her classes knew how she felt, she'd shown episodes over lunch breaks to them.
One time she came in from hall duty to find her students sitting quietly at their desks in the angel position with hands over their faces. All of them.
She had to escape back out into the hallway for a while to have hysterics.

If you're looking for camera recommendations, I bought this one almost two years ago - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004J3YCGM/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 There's a new model out, the SX280 I believe. It's Canon and a point and shoot and I really love it, takes great pictures.

i'm so used to cameras with lenses that i think a point and shoot would feel too small! but i can always use a good rec. :D how is it with closeups?

It's pretty good, I haven't had any issues with it.

Didn't realize you were talking about an SLR - we just got the Canon EOS 7D at work and it is absolutely amazing. We'd been using the 30D for the past several years and while that took great pictures, the 7D is just leaps and bounds ahead of it.

holy crap that it is out of my price range. O.O point and shoot it is! after years of slrs i'd kinda like a smaller camera anyway.

Well, batteries tend to turn into a mess when you not using them, and my actual camera loves to suck all the power out of them, no meaning if I'm using it or not. So ... I barely have batteries in my camera, I even take them out during taking pictures. Yeah, I know, crazy. I think I never made a bigger mistake than to get that damned camera ...

i didn't know you were supposed to take the batteries out! but i do now! my camera sucks the power right out of them too, so i totally sympathize.

This means my camera is past it's use by date and I never take the batteries out. I, too, hate planned obsolescence...

I don't watch Breaking Bad and even I am wondering what happens to Walt. But I do love the Malcolm in the Middle Theory...
