everything i've heard about the rivers of london books has been good. word of mouth is a powerful thing and i'm verrrrrry suggestible. :D
i've only seen twp wc reactions - one was along the lines of WHAT DO YOU MEAN WE HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THE FALL TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENS?? and the other was another "wow, that was contrived". i don't think the writers know how to write drama and tension without all these ridiculous, badly-thought-out, hand-wavey plot contrivances. unimaginative is a good word for it.
My biggest complaint was that a simple gunpowder test would have proved Peter didn't kill Pratt. Also, the gun itself was different. (There are many more basic things that I won't even go into, but honestly, his arrest made no sense whatsoever.) I can't even go into the other contrived BS & the eye-rolling I did about Neal's dad really being a bad guy. It was just so badly handled.
Oh show, I hope you do better when you start again in the summer.
and even before that, him getting the gun in the first place was dependent on whatshername, rhys' replacement, being stupid enough to leave it behind. bah. the ptb just have no idea how to plot without the most ridiculous and convoluted contrivances.
it's streaming radio that isn't actually blocked! not having to work in the deathly quiet is reallllllly nice.
i bought midnight riot over the weekend, so when i'm done with the friar it's next on the list. i shall report back! i expect to like it. i mean, it's about london! what's not to love?
