i have now missed two episodes of elementary - this week's and the random super bowl extra - and from all accounts it looks like this week's was a good one, altho i'm not exactly surprised. it's a good show! and yes it's only been on for half a season but so far it hasn't really had any misses

unrelatedly, mayhem's everlast is out! finally! they had exactly one in the comic shop, because someone ordered it, but i got to flip thru it and then asked if they could get me one. i even had a conversation with the guy in the shop about how it was supposed to come out like a year and a half ago, and both our interests were piqued because of mayhem, and it sounded interesting anyway and i saw a preview online and liked the art. and i still have no idea if it's any good or not.

Also, um, what??? Everlast has been out. I got my copy at Comic Con last July - Chad and the artist signed it for me & everything. Archaia had tons of copies for sale. *confused* Unless you mean it's out in trade paperback now, which I guess makes sense. But the hardcover's been available for quite a long time.

At any rate, let me know what you think of it!! I really liked it.

the comic shop got it in hardcover. the guy couldn't find any information as to whether or not it would be out in paperback. how weird!

i do have the latest elementary! i just haven't watched it yet. i only just watched the one from super bowl sunday, which i enjoyed.

i think i can get her voice right for a little fic, so i might do that. i miss her too! which is why i wanted to write about her for bigbang. it just turns out i can't do it. hmph, self.

Sorry to hear that your Big Bang isn't working out! Because a Jo-centric gen fic with ghost horses sounds just damn amazing, and I would love to see her learning how to hunt (I've wanted a similar one with John for a while). Maybe you could give it a rest, just set it aside for now? I bet the right perspective will sneak up on you eventually, under the right circumstances. Perhaps you need a distraction and another fresh look at it.

Be that as it may, yay historical AUs! I do hope you can come and play in this Big Bang season.

Also, I'm with you on possibly quitting SPN (the current show, not the fandom and not the older seasons). I kept track of people's reactions, and even though there is plenty of squee right now, it sounds like some pretty huge issues between characters just got dropped again. Like, hey, look, drama! But the boss tells us to get back to brotherly love by mid-season, so we're just gonna drop all the drama and pretend it got magically resolved overnight. WTF. Besides, the intense fanservice is BIG turnoff.

a jo-centric fic would be fabulous! which is why i wanted to write it. i just can't get into her head in a way that makes her sound like jo and not just someone i made up. i forgot that fanfic is really hard for me for this very reason. part of me still wants to write it, tho, mostly because i want it to exist. maybe if i sit on it for a while and think about it i'll be ready to write it next year. i'll probably have stopped watching the show, but i'm not sure that's a disqualification

I'm sure that the Jo fic will work out for you somehow. Perhaps you just need to let it stew to get the perspective correctly. Gah, I couldn't get Sam for ages, it was horrible. And now I can't stop writing Sam's POV even when I don't want to. But yes, the Jo fic needs to be written. And as far as the historical AU goes, what is the historical period? I need to know now :D IMO, you should still write it, and the POV thing might work itself out. It does for me anyway, but it never works if I try to plan it. I think the best strategy is just to write it and let it shape itself. If anything, once you have the story going, you will have a better idea of its structure, and then it'll be easier to figure out POVs.

I kinda want to see that scene of Sam covered in hellhound blood, that just sounds too good to miss, it's exactly the kind of crap that made me fell in love with the show in the first place.

(i kind of want later than 1932, so jared can mention in passing that a bunch of gangsters robbed the frost bank in san antonio, so i can give a shout-out to the gangster story that no one will catch but me.) now you know. :D

Well, they didn't let killing the YED end the show. They didn't let killing Sam and Dean end the show. They didn't let averting the apocalypse end the show. Why should some other piddling little "this is our last task" action end the show now? Aim for S20, that's the ticket! No, S30!

well, true. i guess they could handwave a shit-ton of demons stuck on earth if the gates to hell shut permanently, but it would be ridiculous and stupid. and anyway, i'm pretty sure the ptb can drag it out another season.

(it's kind of turned into buffy, where you have to avert the apocalypse and save the world at the end of every season. the only difference is who wants to cause the end of all things.)
