I am so, so fascinated with watching Boyd interact with Billy, because you can just see in Boyd's face how deeply he wishes he still believed, and when Billy took up that snake, Boyd so clearly is hoping that Billy won't get bit, that his faith can remain unshaken. I think Boyd honestly thought that Cassie would stop Billy before it got that far, and that all this religious fervor is really shaking Boyd, given what happened with his own congregation, and how he's clearly still dealing with that. I hope that he's not so distracted that Johnny blindsides him in an unfortunate way. (Johnny could never actually KILL Boyd, he's not cunning enough, but I just don't think Boyd really needs to be betrayed by his family right now. Damn you, Johnny.)
Tim's reactions to everything were, as always, golden. And more Rachel! Always a good thing. I love seeing Raylan interact with his fellow marshals.
re: boyd and billy - exactly! boyd used to stand where billy is now, and i think he looks at billy and kind of sees himself and yeah, he remembers what it was like to have that kind of faith, and to have a congregation. and i totally agree that he thought cassie would step in before billy actually picked up the snake.
i'm not sure johnny's smart enough to even make a plan to kill boyd, much less do it. even with boyd being kind of distracted.
raylan interacting with his fellow marshals is just fun. and they get to be all competent together! and i love me some competence.
