I have no idea about linkedin, not a clue. Hope someone else can offer advice on that front. I basically agree with you about EVERYTHING re: Revolution. I was mostly sort of bored and uninvested, and while I know it can be hard to make you care about characters in the very first episode, you have to at least, you know, make an effort. Overall it didn't work for me, which is a bummer because I really like post-apoc stuff.

i was all excited for the post-apocalypse! altho to be fair i wasn't really expecting to like it a lot. but i was way more interested in the world than the people, which is a problem when the people seem to be at least half the point. other shows can manage to make viewers care about at least some of the characters in the pilot - shows by jj abrams and eric kripke, even! - i don't know why this one couldn't.

So true about Abrams and Kripke and the characters! The first episode of Lost was totally incredible TV especially. I guess when it comes to post-apoc I am more interested in seeing the characters battling the environment than each other...

Wait, wait, wait. I thought you were on reduced hours as compensation for all the obnoxious overtime this summer.

I didn't know you'd been laid off. That's terrible! Augggggh. :(

i was actually on reduced hours because they couldn't afford to pay me for full hours. which is also why i was let go. which i kind of knew was coming. i hate being unemployed - aside from the money thing, it's boring as hell. i can't even write, now that i have all this time in which to do it.

It can't *hurt* to be on linkedin, but I think how useful it is kind of varies from industry to industry and area to area - and how much time you have/want to spend to join groups and reach out to people and all that. (I'm on there, but don't use it as much as I should)

that's kind of what i thought. my cousin has more professional experience than i do and does an entirely different job - and there are fewer people qualified to do what she does - so of course people are going to come to her. me, not so much. i mean, i'm an admin. there are tons of people like me. i figure the worst that can happen is i waste however much time it takes to sign up.
