Ugh. That is just an AWFUL day. I'm sorry it sucked so hard and hope the rest of the week only trends upward from there.

Sorry to hear your yesterday was so bad. ::hugs::

But! If you are off on Wednesdays in June and don't mind coming to the Financial District/Government Center/Aquarium/Faneuil Hall area, you and I could meet up for lunch or coffee or general shmoozing during the workday.

I like giving these as b'not mitzvah gifts to kids who are vaguely craftily inclined. I'm less of a help for b'nei mitzvah, mostly because my parents handled the gift for my nephew last year. :-)

you're downtown! i could meet you for food and/or schmoozing! we should totally do that! possibly more than once. :D how's next wednesday look?

those kits look really cool, and the boy twin apparently said he wants something "meaningful" (altho my mom has no idea what that means and doesn't seem to think my cousin's wife will know either and thus i probably shouldn't bother emailing her to ask - thanks, mom, you know how long it's been since i had to buy a bar mitzvah present?) which those kind of are, except i don't think he or his sister are that kind of crafty. i was going to get the girl twin jewelry, something delicate because she's kind of a wee thing. and also there's a jewelry store with nice things across the street from my office.

Next Wednesday is good for me! I have morning meetings, but I'm clear after 11:15. So we could do lunch, or we could meet later for coffee and/or schmoozing. Let me know which is better for you.

ETA: For a "meaningful" gift, you might think about giving a tzedakah box of some sort. They sell decorative ones, like this one and this one.

those tzedakah boxes are so cute! i love the pink one, possibly because it's vaguely tardis-shaped....

dude, i have the whole day to do nothing but work on my bigbang and think about all the other productive things i could be doing. lunch sounds good, tho. i can even be there at 11:15. or maybe 11:30 or noon, because that seems more lunchtime-friendly.... or one. whenever! email me directions to your place of work! (privacy. :D )

and y'know, one of the really ridiculous things is that i have no idea what to do with that kind of free time, spaced out like that. i keep thinking about some of the things you said about your staycation, and while yours was totally voluntary and mine kind of isn't, i keep thinking i'm just going to waste all my random free time. which is such a stupid thing to worry about.

(not that i think you wasted your vacation! you ficced and made art! which is never a waste.)
