i didn't know you knew julia! small world. they talked about watercolors and pens.
(no. i've never been. i don't read enough sf/f/horror/general spec fic to feel like it's worth it. *googles to see when it is out of curiosity* holy shit caitlin r kiernan is a guest of honor. O.O i knew her as a comic book writer before i ever read any of her novels. silk creeped me right the fuck out but i finished it anyway.)
art claims are open at [info]spn_j2_bigbang and no one has claimed my fic yet and i feel like the last kid picked for kickball. i know every fic eventually gets an artist, but i hate thinking that no one wants mine. i always figure it's because i didn't write an enticing enough summary, or because i wrote something none of the artists want to read.
Me, too. :-( Do you know what happens if no artist claims a fic?
they go to round two, in which artists can claim a second fic. if there are still unclaimed fics left after that, i don't know what they do. call for pinch hitters?
Hey, don't worry, you had a cool summary :D They just get lost among other equally good summaries. I thought mine was awesome, and then it didn't stand out at all and sounded like mpreg (minus the warnings). Thankfully, it got claimed, and so will yours. Besides, it's the fic that counts, not the summary.
(Though I kinda hate it how artists go, "Dammit, why did I sleep/work/whatever through the whole thing! I missed it!" when there're a few dozen fics still open for grabs.)
...you didn't actually write mpreg, did you? o.O logically i know i'll eventually get an artist, because every fic gets an artist, but i hate having to wait. and i don't want my fic to be someone's third choice that they got stuck with because their other choices were already taken.
>>Though I kinda hate it how artists go, "Dammit, why did I sleep/work/whatever through the whole thing! I missed it!" when there're a few dozen fics still open for grabs.<<
i kind of translate that as "i missed claiming the fic i really wanted" but yeah, guys, there are a bunch of unclaimed fics, you didn't miss anything!
Heh, no. But it was sitting right next to an mpreg fic that had some similar concepts, which then (to me) made mine sound like mpreg. Which it wasn't.
I know sometimes it's really hard to narrow it down to first choice fic, people just want half a dozen. Best of luck, I hope you get a great artist who is excited about your fic!
