I've just hit 18,300 for Big Bang. Progress is slowww. I'm near the end but there are a few scenes in the middle that I abandoned mid-scene and I have to go back to them. Eek.
i didn't know you were doing bigbang this year! and if i did, i totally forgot. you can do it! i have the faith. :D and remember - it doesn't have to be good, it just has to be done.
I never remember the "penguin dust" part of this poem, and you'd think I would! I remember Faustus hood and forked clarinets, and Christmas teeth/radiant brains/apple deaf. And I always love, when Mrs Kindhead comes to collect for the Community Chest grab her and tell her There are unfavorable omens in the sky!
That'll keep her from coming back!

oh god yes! her and everyone else, once word gets around.... he'll corner you and tell you about ALIENS. and the christmas teeth etc are so surreal and weird and kind of fun. it's just a great poem overall.

hee! so did that mean i was living on the west coast, or you were living on the east? :D are you going to wincon this year?
That surrealism is one of the things I like about this poem (well, that and the humor). Because "Christmas teeth" and "radiant brains" sound as if they should mean something.
I still haven't decided on Wincon. I keep hoping for the West Coast again, but it's been mid-country for four years running. Expensive and lots of travel time! :(
