have a curling icon, why not

after five years i finally own curling shoes, and they now have the dubious distinction of being the most expensive shoes i own. more than my fluevogs, even. (i think they charge you extra if you're left-handed. well, left-footed, i guess. because of the way the shoes are made - you have a slick sole on the bottom of one shoe, so you can slide ( Read more... )

fun food, baked goods, legos, oh my god the cute, retronaut, things that creep me out, superheroes, beaten by the technology, curling, art

Gosh, those posters are nice. Thank you.

There are a trilogy of DC Elseworlds set in a German-Expressionist-Cinema continuity, of which Superman's Metropolis is the first and most effective, a mash-up of precisely what it says on the cover; Batman:Nosferatu was less impressive, alas, and the WonderWoman/"Blue Angel" one just fizzles.

i love reimaginings/reinterpretations of superhero iconography. like, a mucha-style wonder woman, or steampunk x-men, or even if you just genderflip everyone. i don't read marvel/dc superhero comics, but the different ways people play with the visuals can be really interesting. also, german expressionist superman sounds WEIRD, just because he's such an american superhero. but i can see how it might work. neat!

I just do not understand the entire TREND of pie/cake in jars! It's messy and awkward and half of it ends up on the glass! Cute, yes. But so not practical.

i think because they're so cute. also, kind of handy if you want pie but don't want to bake a whole big one. and even knowing they might be awkward and messy and i'll never be able to get all the crust out of the jar, i still want to make them.
