my mom wants to take me somewhere for my birthday. where should we go? bear in mind that my birthday's in november, which means grand staircase-escalante national monument (cliff dwellings! sandstone canyons!) or the natural bridges monument (so much night sky i will probably pee myself!) are probably out, because i imagine utah is cold in the ( Read more... )

Haha, they're very similar and only a 2-3 hour drive apart. You can do both in one trip, and then decide which you like better. Which will be Charleston. What? No, I'm not biased at all! Honestly, if it didn't get so awfully hot and humid from May to September, and if I could go five feet without tripping over family and friends-of-family, I would consider moving back. I just can't, but the hometown pride still shines.

i've been to charleston, but when i was wee and long enough ago that i don't really remember it. is there a hysteric historic district of pastel colored georgian row houses? really nice row houses with, like, beams thru the walls to help keep them up during hurricanes. or possibly earthquakes.

of course the only thing i'd remember would be the houses....

oh gee, i'll have to sift thru all my j2 pics to find ones of jared looking like a stoner and jensen looking like an uptight yankee. my life, so hard. :D (but it means i have to find pics of steve carlson, period, because i don't think i have any. ditto danneel harris. and some of chad michael mayhem where he doesn't look like a rentboy.)

beaches are boring! i'd rather go places and see things. if there's a beach on the way i'm totally cool with walking along it, because i do like sand and sea, but just hanging out lying on a beach? i can think of better ways to use my vacation time. i might just be really bad at sitting still....
