Yeah, the outtake was awesome, you could totally hear Jared laughing.
I'm not sure how I feel about the ep, either. The comedy aspect of it was entertaining, but it felt a little forced to me, in comparison to something like "Bad Day at Black Rock", which was so nicely balanced in its comedy/slapstick aspects.
the funny and the serious didn't seem to mesh well, and usually spn can make it work. it was almost like two episodes smushed together. the outtake, however, was fabulously dorky and pretty close to perfect.
I'm not sure how I feel about the ep either--it had great moments, but I'm not sure it all really hangs together that well, if that makes any sense. But the outtake! Was made of awesome.
I am intrigued that you have two posts in a row that feature ribbon-wearing Yorkies.
I loved Dean's monologue about how shitty their lives are, but I agree that in general the epi was weak. For one thing, Sam didn't seem nearly worried enough about Dean. There was a lot of eye rolling at Dean's fears, like it was silly, which is how it was written, but for me that didn't really work with the situation of Dean being a few hours from death.
it was clearly a yorkies-wearing-ribbons kind of day. :D
and yeah, sam was weirdly unconcerned about dean dying. his annoyed faces are really cute, but he didn't seem overly worried, which was kind of weird.
the outtake makes up for a lot of failings, tho. air guitar! jensen not knowing all the words! jared laughing behind the camera! so ridiculously dorky and cute.
WTF people?? i mean, the ghost was GREAT! he was CREEPY! it was FUNNY!! now maybe i'm a shallow bitch but i liked it. was it one of those satisfying, meaty episodes? no. but we laughed our damn asses off.
definitely funny, but i didn't quite get the creepy - and dude, i'm creeped out by the least little thing - altho their first glimpse of luther, when he was standing in the corner of the office, facing the wall, that reminded me of the blair witch project and thus gave me the heebie jeebies - and tone-wise it wasn't completely coherent. the ghost bits were serious, but all of dean's freaking out was slapstick and too ott. even tho some of it really was funny. i mean, a yorkie! he ran in fear from a little yippy dog!

All was forgiven at the end however. :D
