that would make sense, except i don't have a chimney. but i noticed this morning that one of the windows in the apartment downstairs was wide open - like, the screen and the storm window were both pushed up - so i guess he could've gotten in the building that way, altho i still don't know how he got in my apartment. i'm just glad he figured out how to leave before he a. pooped on the floor, or b. broke something.

Huh! A couple of years ago we discovered the cats had killed a small brown bird that had gotten into the house, somehow, so I suppose yours had a relative?! At least he came to a better end than caticide.
