Summary: Kyuhyun hires a detective to tail someone from cheating, but the detective is too cute to being ignored.
One-Shot - Tailing Love
The man with dark shades covering his eyes was glancing the almost apartment complex, raising an eyebrow while watching the poor wrecked place as he sighed ready for turning back, but he stopped before leaving when the face of the one he was searching for appeared on his mind, so he glanced again the place and the paper that his hand was holding since he arrived, he took a deep breath and start walking stairs up until he reached the last floor and door, the name on the plaque was the only shining and nice thing, even when the window seemed like breaking in two.
Something was heard inside the room and the man in black flinched a bit, entering in a rush to see what have happened, in the end he saw no one, until some weak voice was murmuring ‘help’ like if it were a ghost, so the man ran to the source of the voice and blinked at a shape lying on the floor covered by newspapers and just letting at the sigh the black jeans and a brown jacked with a hood.
“Help?” asked the man cautions and then the hood started to move slowly.
“I am… hungry” whispered the soft voice and then the man rolled his eyes behind the shades and lend his hand for the other to stand up.
After almost shouting at the one on the floor to get up, he complained and now was munching a choco-bar in content while sitting on an old couch, when he finally swallowed the whole bar, he set his doe brown eyes on the unknowing person.
“So…” the smaller man with his face covered by the hood was smiling silly “why are you here again?”
The man in black suit took off his sun-glasses, showing his handsome beautiful face while smirking.
“I’m Cho Kyuhyun and I’m here to hired you to find if” he showed a pictured to the smaller man “that person is cheating with someone else”
The detective took the picture while nodding as he giggled, so Kyuhyun lifted his eyebrow curious and a bit annoyed.
“Are you stupid, why are you laughing?”
The detective stopped his laugh and stared -with half of his upper face still covered by the hood -at Kyuhyun while frowing.
“I will forget the stupid word but I’ laughing because is my first job” he clapped happily and Kyuhyun stood abruptly.
“Forget it, I can hire someone else”
Before he could go away, the detective hold by the wrist Kyuhyun, startling him and then said panicky.
“I will give you a discount but don’t go, Kyuhyun-ssi!!” the named stopped on his track and watched the other amused.
“A… discount?” He asked careful and the other nodded so Kyuhyun smirked “fifty percent and is deal”.
The detective sighed while nodded but cursed under his breath.
“Deal”
Kyuhyun sat again on the couch, observing the department and paying for the first time attention, so he was surprised to see everything on place except for the newspapers on the floor, so he watched the detective with curious eyes and his eyes then were set on the newspapers, or more in the yellow circles around different part-time jobs, so Kyuhyun hold a chuckled.
“Ah, sorry” pronounced the detective with a small bow and then showed a wide smile that left thunderstruck the other “I’m Lee Eunhyuk by the way”
Kyuhyun nodded and turned his head to the side, faking watch the broken window and Eunhyuk blushed, getting up and covering the window with his slim body.
“Hehe, so… when we start?” asked Eunhyuk while approaching Kyuhyun and then smiling again but this time more discrete, so the taller stood and walked to the exit.
“Tomorrow, his name is Lee Donghae and I guess he will be in a conference at the Royal Hotel, so tail him”
Eunhyuk nodded as the time Kyuhyun opened the door and walked out of the poor place.
Eunhyuk throw himself at the couch, sinking on it and sighing; “Man; that was stressful but yeah!! My first job!!!” and so, he dozed off because lack of meals.
At the next day, Eunhyuk was with a fake mustache, his hood covering his upper face and blue jeans, he saw his reflection on a glass of the hotel’s restaurant and he smiled to himself; perfect outfit.
Then he saw Kyuhyun exiting the hotel where the conference was and with him was two beautiful flower boys, one was smiling like a kid and the other had a young face, but with foxy eyes, even so, he seemed equal innocent and then it was then when the picture of yesterday made a click on Eunhyuk’s mind.
The childish one is the one that is supposed to be cheating, or more than I need to find if he is really cheating.
Eunhyuk watched how the cute boy with kid features was smiling at the foxy-bunny one and then the boy waved a farewell, but Eunhyuk missed the searching gaze of Kyuhyun looking for someone. Eunhyuk put shades on his face and started to trail the possible cheater.
Donghae; like was named the target by Kyuhyun the day before, entered at a cozy restaurant and smiling he greeted a handsome-gentleman that pulled out the chair smaller for him to sit down, so Eunhyuk choose a sit not so far from their table and he smiled at his smart decision while reading the menu as his eyes almost popped out at the sight of the expensive dishes, so he asked for a glass of water, and the waitress shot him a glare but delivered it anyway.
Eunhyuk was observing how Donghae was all smiles towards the gentle man and how the two of them were even sharing food and feeding each other.
A-ha!! So he is cheating Kyuhyun with this boy, I’m so smart.
Eunhyuk giggled at his own thoughts when Suddenly Kyuhyun arrived at the restaurant and greeted with a smirk the two that were so lovey-dovey and Eunhyuk widened his eyes at how shameless was this Donghae boy and at how dumb was Kyuhyun for join them without changing his expressionless face.
Suddenly the waitress chased out Eunhyuk because water was for free and he were sitting more than an hour without asking for more, it was a commotion that even did catch the attention of Donghae, Kyuhyun and the other man, so Kyuhyun smiled a bit murmuring ‘idiot’.
Donghae asked him if he had said something while the other man, excused himself and walk out; Donghae called him by the name of Siwon while waving him a good bye, second later, Donghae turned to talk with Kyuhyun, but the latter was gone as he blinked several times like a lost kid and pouting because then he was the one that needed to pay.
Eunhyuk was hiding behind a tree outside the restaurant when he felt a poke on his shoulder that startled him as he jump with his hand at his heart and wide eyes, hearing a chuckle but not really seeing the owner since his hood was covering half of his face.
“For a detective, you’re very clumsy, you know”
Eunhyuk tilted his head but snorted feeling insulted.
“Well, mister, for your information, I’m a beginner in this campus” he said proud and he was hitting his chest like if what he had said was that he is the smarter and clever man on the world, so Kyuhyun allowed himself to laugh and Eunhyuk just pouted and even when his face was half covered, Kyuhyun stopped laughing at the cute silly pout on the other’s face.
Eunhyuk asked alarmed before watch the whole place from side to side.
“What?”
Kyuhyun was for open his mouth when Eunhyuk saw Donghae exiting the restaurant, so the detective grabbed his hood by the sides like if it were his hair and pulled it exasperated.
“My target!!!”
Kyuhyun watched how the smaller boy ran away chasing Donghae, it was funny the sigh and he chuckled but his intense gaze was on Eunhyuk until his shape disappeared of his sight and Kyuhyun sighed.
“He is cute”
Eunhyuk arrived at his place and throw himself at the couch, his stomach growled because he had skipped his meals again, but what can he do? when all he has is the choco-bars that he win the last week by answering a quick quiz about rappers, so he sighed and watched the two left bars of sweet before opening one half hearted and eating it.
“Man, I need to find a real job, because being a detective has me starving to death”
Then he throw the envelope to the garbage and suddenly the bell of his apartment sounded once startling him, so he asked to himself who could it be since it was past eleven night, to his surprise the bell rang one more time and finally Eunhyuk decided to open the door, widening his eyes at the sight of Kyuhyun, lucky of him that since he had the hood on him, the other didn’t see his surprised face.
“What are you doing here?” asked Eunhyuk, and he sniffed the air, because there was this lingering smell of Chinese food in the air as his stomach growled again, making him blush, so Kyuhyun chuckled because even when the taller couldn’t see the whole blush, at least his eye perceived a bit of the whole pink on Eunhyuk’s cheeks.
“May I come in?” asked Kyuhyun showing the plastic bag with the food and Eunhyuk licked his lips yearning for a decent food since… he doesn’t even remember, but he remember that the last time was at least several months ago when he was teaching dance and not trying to be a detective after being cheated by his ex-boyfriend.
Kyuhyun couldn’t stop himself from noticing the way the detective licked his lips, Kyuhyun knew it was because the food, but well, let’s say, that the plump lips of the other after glowing because the natural action of before was very… tempting, so he swallowed a non existing knot on his throat as he showed the plastic bag, shaking it before the detective face, and he smirked when the other, unconscious, stepped aside to let him enter to the place.
It wasn’t so long, after Eunhyuk almost jumped to the food after Kyuhyun told him that he could eat as well, before the whole recipients were empty, so Kyuhyun offered his one to the smaller and thin man, but he shook his head; frowning a bit.
“I just eat from my own meal, not others”
Kyuhyun wanted to roll his eyes but even so, he left his one at the side, almost untouched and smirked when he saw how Eunhyuk was biting his own lip in order to not drool over the food, but he never offered his food again, he was enjoying this whole situation.
Eunhyuk then cleared his throat and showed a fake smiled, trying hard to not watch the food.
“So… why are you here again?”
Kyuhyun was taken off guard for a moment, yeah… why was he here, he has nothing to say and he knows; he has to wait in order to have some info about his target, yet… his legs just brought him here, to… him.
“Eh?” Kyuhyun blinked and then just watched over the place until his eyes were set on the pictures of Donghae above the wood simple and small table between them, so he signaled the pictures.
“I’m here to know how much are you progressing”
Eunhyuk then snapped out of his gaze on the food and blushed at being caught by Kyuhyun who thought, it was cute, but still, he was curious at how the smaller man look like, since he has this hood that is starting to bother Kyuhyun, but maybe just maybe the thought that the man was ugly or have small almost closed eyes, or maybe a scar on the upper part of his face, or-
Kyuhyun thoughts were cut when the soft, almost timid voice of Eunhyuk answered.
“Oh, I know everything he did until 10:30, but for being the first day and since he stopped at his own place; I assumed I was free for today, but well…” Eunhyuk scratched the back of his neck or more the hood shyly “He meet some man, and I thought it was his mistress, but in the end…” Eunhyuk laughed at the memory.
Kyuhyun watched him curious.
“Well, it was his cousin, I knew because that boy flirted with me after Donghae left and then I asked him, but he even show me his familiar history, so yeah, hehe”
Kyuhyun frown for some unknown reason even for him, what? What the hell is that one of Donghae cousins was asking him for a date, heck!
Eunhyuk blinked at the frown on Kyuhyun and then he thought about the boy on the restaurant.
“Oh! But Donghae was very lovey dovey with the handsome gentleman at the restaurant before you arrived!!” and he clapped his hand happily, missing the frown that went deeper on Kyuhyun’s face.
“His name is Siwon and don’t pay attention if Donghae is lovely with him, just if he is with another man”
Eunhyuk nodded doubtfully but shrugged his shoulders while smiling again at the thought that he was making a pretty good job, randomly Kyuhyun stood and walked out of the place.
“Tomorrow I will come at morning; I will be spying Donghae with you”
Eunhyuk was going to argue but the door was shut when he opened his mouth, so he just sighed.
“And I thought I was doing a pretty good job”
It was seven in the morning when the bell rang again, and Eunhyuk awoke with his messy blond hair and scratching his neck while yawning, his big white shirt was even showing his shoulders and his pants were very wide, he walked at the door and widened his eyes when he remembered that Kyuhyun was maybe there to pick him up, so he shout asking.
“Who?!”
When his suspicious were right, he gasped and shouted again.
“I will be out in ten minutes!!”
Eunhyuk missed the growl at the other side of the door, because he was busy entering to the shower and taking a fast one before dressing himself with blue-fainted jeans and a yellow with pink jacked with hood, as he almost tripped when he opened the door.
“Let’s go” Kyuhyun hissed and Eunhyuk nodded, feeling his hair still a bit wet and he sighed, he wasn’t a morning person after all.
They were in the gym, watching Donghae exercising his body while Eunhyuk had his eyes glued on his target, Kyuhyun’s eyes were on the detective for some reason.
“Wow!! He is very good looking, no doubt he maybe has a lot of boys behind him” Eunhyuk murmured to himself, turning to Kyuhyun that now set his eyes on Donghae.
“I bet you are a jealous boyfriend, but he doesn’t seem like one that can cheat on a handsome man like you”
Kyuhyun blinked and smirked turning to Eunhyuk that still has the hood.
“So you think I’m handsome?”
Eunhyuk nodded oblivious while averting his gaze to Donghae.
“Yeah, pretty handsome and with style, is a shame you have no confidence though”
Kyuhyun snorted at the response, and then watched again the detective with a small smile, forgetting why even he was there in the first place.
That afternoon, it was a bit messy, since Eunhyuk was blushing madly because some stylish man with a great appeal asked Eunhyuk to going out with him, at least for a drink and Eunhyuk was tempted to say ‘yes’ since he really did want a drink and maybe a meal, and well, it was a plus that the man was hot, really hot!
But everything went to disaster when Kyuhyun dragged Eunhyuk away and shout to Eunhyuk that he was ‘crazy’ and that he was on a mission, so when Eunhyuk replied with ‘But I’m hungry and he was just asking to buy me a drink!”
Kyuhyun roared and walk away; releasing the hand he wasn’t even aware he was holding.
“Fine!! Do whatever you want!!”
Eunhyuk was follow him but then Donghae went out of the office he was working on and Eunhyuk forgot about the angry Kyuhyun, so he tailed his target again.
It was a surprise that Donghae was again with Siwon, but then again; Kyuhyun told him to not mind when Donghae was with Siwon no matter what, so he keep himself outside the restaurant because he didn’t want to be kicked out again, so he was starving again when some packed food showed before him as he licked his lips.
“Then if I ask you out if I give you this, will you do it?” asked the voice and Eunhyuk watched with his hood still on; that it was Kyuhyun the one talking, so he smiled silly while taking the food and opening the pack.
“Of course, nobody reject a meal and asides that; were going out right now!!”
Eunhyuk started to eat his food, missing the pink blush on Kyuhyun’s cheeks and how he was smiling dorky at the hood-man.
“So… are we going out?” asked Kyuhyun a bit soft and almost bashfully, but when Eunhyuk was going to reply, Donghae went out of the restaurant, kissing on the cheek Siwon. So Eunhyuk put his tray of food on Kyuhyun’s hands;
“Hold it”
Kyuhyun just complained a bit confused as Eunhyuk started to run in order to not miss his target, so Kyuhyun sighed watching the tray with more than half of the food as he sighed.
“Well...”
Kyuhyun the throw the tray at the garbage and walked at Eunhyuk’s direction, knowing to where was to going Donghae.
Eunhyuk blinked while biting his lower lip, hesitant to enter to that place. Suddenly someone poked him on the shoulder and when he turned, he saw Kyuhyun there, so he sighed and shook his head.
“I can’t go in” stated Eunhyuk so Kyuhyun lifted his eyebrow.
“Why?”
Eunhyuk dropped his shoulders.
“I just… can’t”
No, when my ex is there and not when he told me that I will return after being unemployed and begging on my knees for him to take me back.
Kyuhyun didn’t buy it and was for open his mouth when a man with female features and another with dimple while smiling, with other two that seemed Chinese were calling someone’s name while staring at Eunhyuk.
“Hyukjae, hey!!”
Kyuhyun lifted his eyebrow, but then Eunhyuk laughed nervous and turned around; waving a small ‘hi’ so the others ran to him, especially the youngest.
“What are you doing here? I thought you will call me, but never-”
“Tsk, so you’re really going to beg? What a fool”
“Don’t talk to him like that; I know Hyuk has his reasons”
“Oh my gosh! I can’t believe you’re now a fashion terrorist, what happened to my Hyuk?”
Eunhyuk laughed uncomfortable while Kyuhyun asked slowly.
“Hyuk.. jae?”
The others then acknowledge Kyuhyun’s presence as they were startled, and nodded slowly, so then they beamed, saying in unison.
“Omo! Hyuk, we thought you were going to take him back, but wow!!” they shot an approving glance to Kyuhyun “he seems way better and more good looking”
Eunhyuk was now nervous and Kyuhyun was very confused with the whole situation, and more, when he was dragged by the pretty feminine boy inside the place after Eunhyuk gasped, but then Kyuhyun pushed the boy away, gaining a grunt from the other, even so, in the end; they ended up entering the place.
It had graffiti all over, except the wall mirrors, so the dancers could see themselves training, the music was loud and the shouts of a man with great moves was shouting; 12345678, again!
Kyuhyun eyes widened when he saw Donghae following flawless the music rhythm and his mouth almost dropped, now he knows another side of him, so he chuckled but when he thought about the possible cheating, he frowned and sighed shaking his head.
When the music stopped, the instructor turned around and widened his eyes smiling and hugging the hood-one while almost jumping.
“My Hyuk is back?”
The named just giggled and Kyuhyun frown watching this, forgetting Donghae for a moment. Eunhyuk avert himself from the man while watching the floor shyly.
“I’m not back Hangeng-hyung, but I’m…” Eunhyuk got near the named and murmured something that made Hangeng open his eyes full and smiling while winking at Eunhyuk.
Eunhyuk gaze then scanned the whole place and the pretty one with feminine features snorted while saying.
“He is not here”
Eunhyuk left a sigh of relieve and when Kyuhyun was for ask who? A man with a bag at his back came and smirked while glancing the whole place like if he owned it, that it was a fact, because he really owns the dance-academy so everybody bowed to him and Eunhyuk just looked at the floor while biting his inner cheek, shutting his eyes afraid of being caught, so when the man passed by him without any glance, Eunhyuk sighed alleviated.
But Kyuhyun noticed the strange behavior as he watched from the detective to the man that just has showed, even Donghae greeted that man with a big smile on his face.
“Who is it?” murmured Kyuhyun to one of the detective friends; knew as Leeteuk.
“Hyukjae’s ex” was the simple yet two words that sent a fire explosion on Kyuhyun’s chest.
Eunhyuk by that time went out of the place being unnoticed, tailed by Kyuhyun who was frowning for some unknowing reason.
The next day, Eunhyuk tailed Donghae, and as usual, he went to work at morning, eat after work and then he ended up at some other places, shops, or maybe a museum to see a gallery, so after a week -when Kyuhyun never show -Eunhyuk learned that Donghae just went to have dancing lessons on Tuesday. Eunhyuk was very tired and since his younger boss still didn’t pay him even half of the money, he was starving and his choco-bars were gone days ago, so Eunhyuk decided to just sleep on the couch with his free time at this time of the night, because yeah, Eunhyuk even followed his target even at night after the second day, just to make sure the named Donghae was really just doing day activities, to Eunhyuk surprise, Donghae was a really faithful boyfriend, except for the still suspicious Siwon, that every Friday went inside Donghae’s apartment until the next day at afternoon.
After two months of no really sleep and just eating the free-food-for-taste on the supermarkets, Eunhyuk was almost at his faint point, still, this was his first job and he was really determinate to accomplish it no matter what, especially since his pride was at the edge, because he still wanted to dance, but his annoying ex told him that he just can be back as a dance-instructor after being able to do a ‘detective-job’.
So the afternoon when Eunhyuk was for deliver his complete report to Kyuhyun, the latter showed at the smaller man’s door with a frown and entering the place very irritated.
“You should have told me he was your ex-boyfriend and the owner of that damn place!!” shouted Kyuhyun, and Eunhyuk blinked twice, lost at the whole situation.
“Eh?”
Kyuhyun walked from side to side to the apartment and Kyuhyun shot him a glare and his frown went deeper when he saw that the detective had another hood covering half of his face. Kyuhyun sighed, still annoyed that when he went this morning to pick Donghae at the dance place, the asshole of owner was blabbering that he even slept with the most talented dancer of the place and that now the dancer was a detective because he wanted to return with him, him!!!
And Kyuhyun was beyond pissed, because, heck! Why someone will even give a glance to that damn instructor with great body built but and asshole attitude, and Kyuhyun sighed frustrated watching his reflection on the mirror because he was… just him and not a professional dancer or even a owner of some place, well, maybe he owned some hotels, restaurants, and more, but he didn’t own any dance academy, so then he left Donghae saying him ‘call Siwon’ and drove to the detective place in rage, and now that he was thinking all this, his cheeks flustered because this was stupid, he was stupid and then it hit him; he was more than stupid, he had fall in love with a complete stranger with a hood covering his face and with an ex on his past.
So Kyuhyun just did the best option for him, cough and fake ignorance while pretending to be quiet and relaxed.
“I mean, how is the progress with Donghae?”
Eunhyuk face brightened, not that Kyuhyun saw it, but at least he saw the wide gummy smile on the detective’s face as a small smile appeared on his own face for some reason.
“Oh, that! Pretty good, I was going to give you the whole report, but well” Eunhyuk rubbed the back of his hood at the neck place “I’m glad you come”
Kyuhyun felt his heart flutter and his smile went wide; so Eunhyuk was glad to see him? He was glad that he come, and a thousand of butterflies exploded inside Kyuhyun’s belly while his cheeks went red and he asked shyly.
“Really?”
Eunhyuk nodded eagerly with a smile.
“Yeah! I mean, after I report my investigation, you will pay me right?”
And Kyuhyun emotions were cut and throw in a deep black sea, squeezing his heart and breaking it in two pieces as the atmosphere were gloomy.
“Yeah, right, so called the boss Kyu and then ask for the payment, yeah, I mean, I’ just money, yeah, well, because I know you still love that stupid jerk, but well… yeah-”
And Kyuhyun kept blabbering in an unintelligible voice all those words while making himself comfortable at one corner, and Eunhyuk could swear that even a dark cloud with thunders was over Kyuhyun’s head and the mood was gloomy.
So then Eunhyuk started to walked towards Kyuhyun, his hand almost reaching the shoulder of Kyuhyun when Eunhyuk heard.
“because yeah, I understand that a jaw-like-monkey like yours is the problem…”
Kyuhyun was talking about Eunhyuk’s appeal, yet the other misunderstood and shouted.
“Well Mister, I’m sorry I have an ugly jaw-line!!”
And Kyuhyun blinked three times confused as the imaginary clouds disappeared of the air and everything was normal around him again.
“Wh-what?”
“Just shut up and see my report”
Commanded Eunhyuk a bit annoyed and started to tell all his observations to Kyuhyun that was now watching him with confused eyes.
“So, in few words, Donghae just meet with this Siwon guy after you”
And Kyuhyun blinked amused with his heart thumping at the voice he was hearing, oh man, even when he just knew this guy, he was sure it was love.
“Ah, I see” Kyuhyun then stopped his dreaming state and widened his eyes “wait! You say what?”
Eunhyuk blinked once.
“That Donghae is cheating on you with Siwon”
And Kyuhyun started to laugh like crazy, so Eunhyuk thought that maybe he must had to be a bit more sensitive at the time he gave the new, because Kyuhyun seemed like crazy, so Eunhyuk started.
“I know this is affecting you, but-”
It was so sudden, but Eunhyuk was more than confuse when Kyuhyun was on wiping his tears away after laughing so much and shaking his head while with one hand holding his stomach that was starting to hurt.
“So you believe that me and Hae?”
Eunhyuk nodded, and Kyuhyun laughed a bit again, stopping when he noticed that Eunhyuk was watching him like he was mental.
“Sorry” Kyuhyun said, holding his laugh and breathing in and out slowly “It’s just that Siwon is Donghae’s boyfriend and I’m just Siwon’s brother, but I was worried someone like Donghae could cheat on my bro, because before being his boyfriend, Donghae was a player”
Kyuhyun confessed and Eunhyuk widened his eyes, so that’s why Kyuhyun told him to not mind Siwon and Eunhyuk slapped himself mentally, Oh god! I’m such a fail for a detective.
Kyuhyun then smirked and watched Eunhyuk.
“So now is your turn, do you still love your ex?”
Eunhyuk was narrowing his eyes behind the hood and smiled a bit sadly.
“No, but I want to show the jerk I can be fine without him and well…” Eunhyuk blushed, so Kyuhyun heart raised waiting for maybe a confession “I want my job as a dance trainer back”
Kyuhyun rolled his eyes but smirked more.
“I own a dance academy”
Eunhyuk blinked confused.
“And I need a teacher there since I fired all the previous ones”
Eunhyuk eyes were bright and wide but of course, Kyuhyun missed that as he chuckled.
“Really?”
Kyuhyun nodded at Eunhyuk question; well, is half true since I’m just going to buy it today and get rid of that asshole.
“Yeah, really”
Eunhyuk then move randomly and hugged Kyuhyun after jumping to him, making the youngest blush madly and laugh like a silly
“I would love to work there”
Meanwhile in a restaurant.
“Yeobo!!” shouts Donghae running to his handsome boyfriend while he smiles to the cute one.
“I miss you”
Donghae blushes but kiss the cheek of his beloved while holding hands.
