New fansub releases

Now that [wind] has released the 6th episode for Higurashi, i'm officially dropping [Ayu] for it. Sorry [Ayu], but i really want to watch this. Episode 4-5-6 has pure madness and everyone's discussion of it on the forums are starting to eat into me. Mai Nakahara doing a berzerked Rena is probably the best shit ever.

Triad all the way!

That's one thing you gotta learn about me, is that if a group that I know is *good* is working on it, I will shut up and just be patient x_x

Well i don't have any good impression with [Triad] because i never had any animes made by them.

And given the choice i would go with [Ayu] because i have a lot of series subbed by them.

Each to his own.

The best of the best groups tend to focus on ONE project at a time, sometimes extremely difficult ones, rather than take on multiple. In some cases, naming off a list of their work would take a long time because of some groups sheer size, enabling them to do multiple series extremely well.

My top 3 favorite groups are set in stone, the rest is pretty much equal/average for the most part:
Triad, Solar, afk, Aone, Akeep, A-kraze, Anbu, AnY, HnK, Eclipse, Ayu, AE, Static-Subs, Shinsen, Lunar, RiceBox, .

This is all subjective and keep in mind that some groups may or may not be around anymore. I also make sure that I don't get TOO picky because I'm grateful the subs exist in the first place.

I hope this clears up why I made those statements earlier. My opinion about some newer groups (specifically, Ayu and Eclipse) is also changing because I'm usually pretty scared about trying out groups I've never heard of.

Either way, a discussion between us about groups was inevitable :P

I don't like discussions between groups because it boils down to a matter of preference, unless the subbing is extremely horrible ie- Translation mistakes, a lot of typo errors and irregular typopgraghy.

When it comes to fansubs, i usually follow groups that i am comfortable with but i do give new ones a chance. Usually i'll download multiple version of episode 1 and make a decision.

And you're not wrong about best groups focusing on one. Some groups *cough*shinsen*cough* have way too many projects on their hand IMO. The best would be 2-3 depends on the number of people in their group.

Eclipse is so fast and efficient, they were able to churn 2 animes out - FSN and SnS on a next day basis with quality, and some groups take like forever just to sub 1 episode.

At the end of the day, it's everyone's own choice. All the mud slinging about the best fansub and all in the forums are a bloody waste of time, shouldn't we be focus more on the anime then the group itself?
