I liked the nostalgic neo-mysticism, especially Wardo's line, which may or may not imply that Wardo was aware of being soulmates before Mark's drunken revelations, but in any case reveals his sarcastic self depreciation, and willingness to be on the right side of an inside joke:

This was so great! I love the kind of reincarnation idea of it all... It makes the whole thing sort of magical and very interesting. And the idea that it fed into Mark's love of mythology was a great way to take it.

The nod to Joe in The Pacific was a nice touch too, as was Wardo's little inside joke: "And is Mark short for Markus?".

This is really sweet and cute way for them to meet. Nicely done! :)
